Turkish television series ( tr, Türk dizileri) has grown radically since the 2000s. Most dramas reflect Turkish culture and are the country's most well known economic and cultural exports. Turkey is the world's fastest growing television series exporter and by the mid-2010s overtook both Mexico and Brazil as the world's second highest television series exporter after the United States. The television industry has played a pivotal role in increasing Turkey's popularity in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North Africa. Turkish series are mostly produced in Istanbul, as television companies chose to settle there after the wave of liberalization for private television in the 1990s. Turkish television channels producing dramas include TRT, Kanal D, Show TV, Star TV, ATV, Fox, TV8, and Kanal 7. The culture of Turkey ( tr, Türkiye Kültürü) combines a heavily diverse and heterogeneous set of elements that have been derived from the various cultures of the Eastern Mediterranean, Eastern Europe, Caucasia, Middle East and Central Asia traditions. Many of these traditions were initially brought together by the Ottoman Empire, a multi-ethnic and multi-religious state. During the early years of the Republic of Turkey, the government invested a large amount of resources into fine arts such as paintings, sculpture and architecture. The series is based on Vedat Türkali's scenario, ''Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne?'', which was made into a film in 1986, Hülya Avşar as Fatmagül. The series is written by the duo Ece Yörenç and Melek Gençoğlu. ''Adını Feriha Koydum'' ( en, "I named her Feriha") is a Turkish television drama series which was first broadcast on Show TV from 14 January 2011 to 29 June 2012. A rebooted version aired from September 7 to December 14, 2012. It follows housekeeper Feriha Yilmaz (Hazal Kaya), a young woman from a poor background and the daughter of Zehra Yılmaz ( Vahide Percin); and Rıza Yılmaz ( Metin Çekmez), a doorman. Feriha is awarded a scholarship to an elite university, where wealthy playboy Emir Sarrafoğlu ( Cagatay Ulusoy) studies as well. ''Pasión Prohibida'' () is a Spanish-language romantic drama telenovela produced by United States-based television network Telemundo Television Studios, Miami. It is a remake of the Turkish telenovela '' Aşk-ı Memnu'' by Ece Yörenç and Melek Gençoğlu.
