The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Tertiary To Quintessential Phases
The Tertiary Phase, Quandary Phase, Quintessential Phase and Hexagonal Phase are respectively the third, fourth, fifth and sixth series of ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'' radio series. Produced in 2003, 2004 and 2018 by Above the Title Productions for BBC Radio 4, they are radio adaptations of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth books in Douglas Adams' ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'' series: ''Life, the Universe and Everything''; ''So Long, and Thanks For All the Fish''; ''Mostly Harmless'' and '' And Another Thing...''. These radio series consisted of a total of twenty episodes, following on from the twelve episodes from the original two series ( the Primary and Secondary Phases) which originally aired in 1978 and 1980. ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'' is a science fiction comedy radio series primarily written by Douglas Adams. It was originally broadcast in the United Kingdom by BBC Radio 4 in 1978, and afterwards the BBC World Service, National Public Radio in the US and CBC Radio in Canada. The series was the first radio comedy programme to be produced in stereo, and was innovative in its use of music and sound effects, winning a number of awards. The series follows the adventures of hapless Englishman Arthur Dent and his friend Ford Prefect, an alien who writes for ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'', a pan-galactic encyclopaedia and travel guide. Peter Jones (actor)
Peter Geoffrey Francis Jones (12 June 1920 – 10 April 2000) was an English actor, screenwriter and broadcaster. Early life and early career Peter Jones, born in Wem, Shropshire, was educated at Wem Grammar School and Ellesmere College, making his first appearance as an actor in Wolverhampton at the age of 16 and then appeared in repertory theatre in East Anglia. In 1942 he acted on the West End stage in '' The Doctor's Dilemma'' and in 1942 he made an uncredited film appearance in '' Fanny by Gaslight''. An early film credit was as a Xenobian trade delegate in '' Chance of a Lifetime'' (1950). He appeared in the 1949 comedy ''Love in Albania'' by Eric Linklater. He co-wrote the 1954 play ''The Party Spirit'' which ran in the West End with Ralph Lynn and Robertson Hare. Simon Jones (born 27 July 1950) is an English actor. He portrayed Arthur Dent, protagonist of Douglas Adams' ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'' on radio in 1978 and again on television in 1981. Jones also appeared in the film ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'' (2005) in a cameo role. He also played the role of Donald Shellhammer in ''Miracle on 34th Street'' (1994), appeared in ''Brideshead Revisited'' as Lord Brideshead, and as King George V in the film ''Downton Abbey''. Career Jones appeared in various television series, including ''Brideshead Revisited'' (in which he played the Earl of Brideshead, or 'Bridey', heir to the Marquess of Marchmain), and the second series of ''Blackadder'' (playing Sir Walter Raleigh). The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings.
