''The Addams Family'' is a 2019 computer-animated supernatural black comedy film directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan and based on the characters created by Charles Addams. The film stars the voices of Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Snoop Dogg, Bette Midler, and Allison Janney. The film was theatrically released in the United States and in Canada by United Artists Releasing on October 11, 2019. It received mixed reviews from critics for its narrative and screenplay, though the voice acting and animation were praised, and grossed $203 million on a $24 million budget. Conrad Vernon (born July 11, 1968) is an American voice actor, director, writer, and storyboard artist best known for his work on the DreamWorks animated film series ''Shrek'' as well as other films such as '' Monsters vs. Aliens'', '' Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted'', and ''Penguins of Madagascar''. He also co-directed non-DreamWorks animated films such as Sony Pictures’ ''Sausage Party'' and MGM’s ''The Addams Family''. Kelly Adam Asbury (January 15, 1960 – June 26, 2020) was an American animated film director, writer, voice actor, and illustrator. He was best known for directing animated films, including '' Shrek 2'', '' Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron'', ''Gnomeo & Juliet'', '' Smurfs: The Lost Village'', and '' UglyDolls''.
