Tennessee's Congressional Districts
There are currently nine United States congressional districts in Tennessee based on results from the 2020 United States census. There have been as few as eight and as many as thirteen congressional districts in Tennessee. The and the were lost after the 1840 census. The was lost after the 1850 census and the was last lost after the 1950 census. The was briefly lost after the 1970 census but was regained after the 1980 census. Sherwood, Tennessee
Sherwood is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, Tennessee, United States. It is located along Tennessee State Route 56 southeast of Winchester, and just north of the Alabama state line. Sherwood has a post office with ZIP code 37376. Demographics Geography and Location The Crow Creek Valley, in which Sherwood is situated, is a relatively narrow valley surrounded on three sides (north, east, and west) by the Cumberland Plateau (including Lost Cove), with the southern end of the valley opening toward Alabama. Crow Creek, which flows from Lost Cove Cave, drains the valley and flows through the western part of Sherwood, emptying into the Tennessee River at Guntersville Lake near Stevenson, Alabama, several miles to the south. Sherwood lies at an elevation of . State Route 56, the only major highway that passes through Sherwood, traverses the valley from north-to-south. Scott DesJarlais
Scott Eugene DesJarlais (; born February 21, 1964) is an American politician and physician serving as the United States House of Representatives, U.S. representative for since 2011. The district stretches across East Tennessee, East and Middle Tennessee. He is a member of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party. Early life, education, and medical career DesJarlais was born in 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Joe DesJarlais, a barber, and Sylvia, a registered nurse. He grew up in Sturgis, South Dakota. Over ten years he, his parents and his brother and sister built their own house in Sturgis; his parents still live there. DesJarlais earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Psychology from the University of South Dakota in 1987 and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Dakota, University of South Dakota School of Medicine in 1991.
