Turkish Publishers' Association
The Turkish Publishers Association ({{langx, tr, Türkiye Yayıncılar Birliği, TYB) is the oldest national association for publishers in Turkey. It was founded in 1985, and in 2013 counted around 300 publishing companies and distributors as members. It is a member of the International Publishers Association. International Publishers Association
The International Publishers Association (IPA, originally Congrès international des éditeurs) is an international publishing industry federation of national publisher associations representing book and journal publishing, founded in 1896 in Paris. It is a non-profit and non-governmental organization, to promote and protect publishing and to raise awareness for publishing in the context of economic, cultural and political development. The IPA represents the interests of the publishing industry on an international level. The IPA's two core pillars are the promotion of copyright and the protection of the freedom to publish. The IPA actively opposes censorship and promotes literacy. Since 2005, the IPA has awarded the Freedom to Publish Prize, renamed the Prix Voltaire in 2016. Meltem Arıkan
Handan Meltem Arıkan (born January 7, 1968) is a Turkish novelist and playwright. Biography Arıkan was born and grew up in Ankara, Turkey. Currently she is UK-based since she was persecuted by the Turkish government. The play Mi Minör is considered by the politicians a subversive work and the playwright is accused to be responsible for the rehearsal of Gezi Park protests. She allegedly received rape and death threats Her first short stories and essays were published in various literary journals during 1992–1995. Perihan MaÄŸden
Perihan Mağden (born 24 August 1960) is a Turkish writer. She was a columnist for the newspaper ''Taraf''. She was tried and acquitted for calling for opening the possibility of conscientious objection to mandatory military service in Turkey. Biography Mağden was born in 1960 in Istanbul. She is Georgian on her father’s side, and half Russian/Balkan on her mother's side. After graduating from Robert College of Istanbul, she studied psychology at Boğaziçi University. By her own account, she was an unruly student—and her mother was proud of it. One of the most famous writers in young Turkish literature, Perihan Magden has spent some time at Yaddo, the famous artists' community. Mağden is a single mother who lives in Istanbul. Nedim Åžener
Nedim Şener (; born 28 November 1966 in Germany) is a Turkish writer and journalist who has written for the ''Milliyet'' (since 1994) and '' Posta'' newspapers. He has received a number of journalism awards, including the Turkish Journalists' Association Press Freedom Award, the International Press Institute's World Press Freedom Heroes award, and PEN Freedom of Expression Award. He is particularly known for his 2009 book on the assassination of Hrant Dink, which showed the role of Turkish security. He is under indictment in the Odatv case of the Ergenekon trials because, he believes, his 2009 book alleged that police officers responsible for the Ergenekon investigation were responsible for the Dink murder. İsmail Saymaz
İsmail Saymaz (born 11 July 1980, in Rize İletişim Yayıneviİsmail Saymaz/ref>) is a Turkish investigative journalist and writer for the newspaper ''Sözcü''. He has published articles and books on the Turkish deep state and Ergenekon, including a 2011 book on links between the 2007 Zirve Publishing House massacre and the 2006 killing of Andrea Santoro, and another 2011 book on former police chief Hanefi Avcı. Business is the practice of making one's living or making money by producing or buying and selling products (such as goods and services). It is also "any activity or enterprise entered into for profit."
