Tug Of War (Paul McCartney Album)
''Tug of War'' is the third solo studio album by the English musician Paul McCartney, released on 26 April 1982. It is his 11th album overall following the break up of the Beatles in 1970, his first album released after the dissolution of his band Wings (band), Wings the previous year, and his first album following Murder of John Lennon, the murder of his former songwriting partner John Lennon. The cover features an abstract oil painting by the artist Brian Clarke, a frequent McCartney collaborator, incorporating an overpainted transparency of a portrait of Paul taken by Linda McCartney. Stanley Clarke
Stanley Clarke (born June 30, 1951) is an American bassist, composer and founding member of Return to Forever, one of the first jazz fusion bands. Clarke gave the bass guitar a prominence it lacked in jazz-related music. He is the first jazz-fusion bassist to headline tours, sell out shows worldwide and have recordings reach gold status. Denny Laine
Brian Frederick Hines (29 October 1944 – 5 December 2023), known professionally as Denny Laine, was an English musician who co-founded two major rock bands: the Moody Blues and Wings. Laine played guitar in the Moody Blues from 1964 to 1966 and sang their hit cover version of " Go Now". Laine befriended Paul McCartney of the Beatles, who later asked him to join his band Wings. "We All Stand Together" (sometimes referred to as the Frog Song or the Frog Chorus) is a song by Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus. History "We All Stand Together" is from the animated film '' Rupert and the Frog Song'' and reached number three in the UK Singles Chart in 1984. The "Frog Chorus" backing on the song was provided by The King's Singers and the choir of St Paul's Cathedral. The B-side of the single contains a "Humming Version" of the song performed by the Finchley Frogettes. Rupert Bear is an English children's comic strip character and franchise created by Herbert Tourtel and illustrated by his wife, the artist Mary Tourtel, first appearing in the ''Daily Express'' newspaper on 8 November 1920. Rupert's initial purpose was to win sales from the rival ''Daily Mail'' and ''Daily Mirror''. In 1935, the stories and artwork were both taken over by Alfred Bestall, who was previously an illustrator for ''Punch magazine, Punch'' and other glossy magazines.
