Triple Crown Of Surfing
The Triple Crown of Surfing is a specialty series of professional surfing events that have been held annually since 1983 on the North Shore of Oahu, a coastline whose winter swells can reach in height. The Triple Crown was founded by former World Champion (1968) Fred Hemmings, and Randy Rarick, who produced the Triple Crown events. The Series came under Vans' ownership in 1998. The three venues of Haleiwa, Sunset, and Pipeline are the last three major events of the professional surfing season; the Pipe Masters being the final event of the World Surf League Championship Tour up until 2020 when it became the first event of the 2020-21 wraparound season in December 2020. Griffin Colapinto
Griffin Colapinto ( ; born July 29, 1998) is an American professional surfer who has competed on the World Surf League Men's World Tour since 2018. Colapinto has finished twice in the top three of the World Surf League Championship, in 2023 and 2024. He qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games where he was eliminated in the third round of the men's shortboard competition. Surfing career Colapinto has been surfing in competition since the 2011 men's junior season at 13 years old. In 2015, he won first place at the Junior Men's US Open of Surfing. As a junior surfer, Colapinto went viral in 2016 with an air-reverse to win a Qualifying Series heat at the Hawaii Pro. In 2017, he made the final of the WSL's World Junior Championship. Keala Kennelly (born August 13, 1978) is a professional surfer, DJ, and actress from Kauai, Hawaii. After spending a decade ranked in the top 10 on thASP World Championship Tour (WCT) Kennelly took a break from the tour in 2007 to explore her passions for acting and music, including a recurring role as a surfer in the 2007 series ''John from Cincinnati''. Philip Andrew Irons (July 24, 1978November 2, 2010) was an American professional surfer. Irons began surfing with his brother Bruce Irons (surfer), Bruce on the shallow and dangerous waves of Kauai, Hawaii, before being spotted by a local surfboard brand and flown to North Shore (Oahu), North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii, to compete and develop his skill. Megan Abubo (born January 28, 1978) is a professional surfer from Hawaii. Biography Born in Connecticut and raised in Hawaii, Megan Abubo showcases a style honed on powerful reef-breaks and deepwater ocean waves. Growing up in Hawaii, Megan quickly became one of the "beach boys" and worked her way to a spot on the World Championship Tour ranks in 1998. She has been on the WCT ever since and in 2000 she was runner up for the world title. She has had many victories both in and out of the water. In October 2004 Megan won the WCT Rip Curl Malibu Pro and shot from 14th to 9th in the ratings. In 2002, she won the WCT Figueira Pro in Portugal, and in 2001 she won the WCT Roxy Pro in Fiji. Bede Durbidge (born 23 February 1983) is an Australian professional surfer competing on the World Surf League World Tour. Durbo, Bej and The White Fijian are his nicknames. Life Bede Durbidge was born in Brisbane, Queensland and grew up in Point Lookout, on North Stradbroke Island. He began in the Australasian Junior Series, and after four years in the World Qualifying Series joined the World Championship Tour in 2005. As a professional, his strongest achievement is winning the Boost Mobile Pro in Trestles, San Clemente, California. Only five waves was enough for him to defeat the seven-time champion Kelly Slater. Stephanie Gilmore
Stephanie Louise Gilmore (born 29 January 1988) is an Australian professional surfer and eight-time world champion on the Women's WSL World Tour (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2022). Joel Parkinson (born 10 April 1981) is an Australian surfer who competed in the World Surf League (WSL). After twelve years competing at the elite level on the ASP World Championship Tour, a stretch that saw him win eleven elite ASP World Title Events, plus nine additional ASP tour events, and achieve runner-up second place to the ASP World Title four times, Parkinson won the ASP World Championship Tour Surfing Title on 14 December 2012 in Hawaii at the Banzai Pipeline during the ASP World Tours' final event for 2012–the Billabong Pipeline Masters.
