Parkersburg, Iowa
Parkersburg is a city in Butler County, Iowa, United States. The population was 2,015 in the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, an increase from 1,870 in the 2010 United States census, 2010 census. Parkersburg, although not the county seat, is the highest-populated city in Butler County. History The first known settlers of the Parkersburg area were John Connell and his son William, who built a log cabin in 1857. A railroad company surveyed the area in the early 1860s. Tropical Storm Fay (2008)
Tropical Storm Fay was an unusual tropical storm that moved erratically across the state of Florida and the Caribbean Sea. The sixth named storm of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season, Fay formed from a vigorous tropical wave on August 15 over the Dominican Republic. It passed over the island of Hispaniola, into the Gulf of Gonâve, across the island of Cuba, and made landfall on the Florida Keys late in the afternoon of August 18 before veering into the Gulf of Mexico.
