Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (GBA Video Game)
''Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2'' is a 2001 sports game, extreme sports skateboarding video game developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision for the Game Boy Advance handheld game console. It is a portable version of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, console game of the same name, starring the skateboarder Tony Hawk. While the console versions of the game have a behind-the-back camera perspective, this version instead uses an Isometric video game graphics, isometric perspective, featuring modified levels taken from the console version. The player is tasked with getting as high a score as they can in a limited span of time by doing skateboarding tricks, and can play on multiple levels in different game modes. Vicarious Visions proposed the creation of a Game Boy Advance version, getting approval from Activision and Tony Hawk. Tony Hawk
Anthony Frank Hawk (born May 12, 1968), nicknamed Birdman, is an American professional skateboarder, entrepreneur, and the owner of the skateboard company Birdhouse. A pioneer of modern vertical skateboarding, Hawk completed the first documented " 900" skateboarding trick in 1999. He also licensed a skateboarding video game series named after him, published by Activision that same year. Hawk retired from competing professionally in 2003 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential skateboarders of all time. Ollie (skateboarding)
The ollie is a skateboarding trick where the rider and board leap into the air without the use of the rider's hands. It is the combination of stomping (also known as popping) the tail of the skateboard off the ground to get the board mostly vertical, jumping, and sliding the front foot forward to level out the skateboard at the peak of the jump. The ollie is a fundamental skill in skateboarding. Ollies are necessary to leap onto, over, or off of obstacles. As most flip tricks depend on it, the ollie is often the first skill to be learned by a new skateboarder and typically takes considerable practice to master. Origin of the technique In 1978, Alan Gelfand, who was given his nickname "Ollie" by Scott Goodman, learned to perform frontside no-handed aerials in bowls and pools using a gentle raising of the nose and scooping motion to keep the board with the feet.
