Tom Shaw (American Football)
Thomas Leonard Shaw (December 11, 1928 - December 23, 2017) was an American football quarterback. Football career Shaw was born in Portland, Oregon, where, as a high school football quarterback, he led Grant High School to back-to-back state football championships in 1946 and 1947. Shaw also played basketball and baseball for Grant and was inducted into the Portland Interscholastic League Hall of Fame in 2005. Shaw played college baseball and football for Stanford University, and was the starting quarterback for the 1948 season. Shaw was the backup to Gary Kerkorian for the 1949 and 1950 seasons. Tom Shaw (bishop)
Marvil Thomas Shaw III (August 28, 1945October 17, 2014) was an Episcopal bishop based in New England and a member of the Society of St. John the Evangelist. In 1995, he was called as the fifteenth Bishop of Massachusetts. Early life Marvil Thomas Shaw was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Marvil Thomas II and Wilma Sylvia (née Janes) Shaw. He was a graduate of Alma College and held a Master of Divinity degree from General Theological Seminary in New York and a Master of Arts degree in theology from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Ordained ministry Shaw was ordained deacon on July 2, 1970, and to the priesthood in 1971. He served as curate at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire, England, from 1970 to 1972 and as assistant rector of St. James' Church in Milwaukee from 1972 to 1974. Tom Shaw (footballer)
Thomas William Shaw (born 1 December 1986) is an English former footballer and assistant head coach at EFL League One side Lincoln City. Shaw began his career at Rushden & Diamonds, making over 50 appearances in the Football League and Conference between 2006 and 2008. He has since had spells at Mansfield Town, Tamworth, Kidderminster Harriers and Cambridge United, Alfreton Town, before moving to Chester in 2015. Shaw returned to Tamworth in 2018. Tom Shaw (golfer)
Thomas G. Shaw (born December 13, 1938) is an American professional golfer who has played on both the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. Shaw was born in Wichita, Kansas. He attended the University of Oregon in Eugene from 1959–1962, and was an All-American member of the golf team. He helped Oregon win the Pacific Coast Conference title in 1959. Shaw graduated and turned pro in 1962. He joined the PGA Tour in 1963. Shaw won four PGA Tour events and had over two dozen top-10 finishes. In 1966, he was seriously injured in a car accident on the way to the Bob Hope Classic. In 1971, he won twice, earned $96,220, and finished 15th on the money list. His best finish in a major was a T-21 at the 1969 PGA Championship. Shaw began play on the Senior PGA Tour in 1989, and was one of five rookies to win on tour that year. Thomas Shaw (9 April 1872 – 26 September 1938), known as Tom Shaw, was a British trade unionist and Labour Party politician. Early life and education Shaw was born in Waterside, Colne, Lancashire. He was the eldest son of a miner, Ellis Shaw, and his wife, Sarah Ann (''née'' Wilkinson). At age 10, Shaw began working part-time in a textile factory, and two years later quit school to work full-time. Later, he took evening classes to catch up with his education and was particularly skillful in languages. His knowledge of German and French proved useful to him later in his career. Trade unions Shaw was a strong supporter of unions. He joined the Colne Weavers' Association and became its secretary, and was a founding member of the Northern Counties Textile Trades Federation.
