Tom Doak
Tom Doak is a golf course architect. He has 6 courses ranked among the top 100 in the world according to the "Top 100 Courses in the World" March 2021 list compiled by '' Golf Magazine.'' These include Pacific Dunes in Oregon, Ballyneal in Colorado, Barnbougle Dunes in Tasmania and Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand. Doak lives in Michigan. He was a student of golf course designer Pete Dye, although perhaps his greatest influence comes from Alister MacKenzie (about whom Doak wrote a book), designer of Cypress Point, Royal Melbourne, and consultant to Bobby Jones at Augusta National. In 2007, Doak restored Alister MacKenzie's home course, Pasatiempo, a ''Golf Magazine'' Top 100 course located in Santa Cruz, California. One of the first "special interest" magazines of its kind, it was started in April 1959 by Arnold Abramson and Robert Abramson, the owners of Universal Publishing and Distributing Corporation, who sold it to Times Mirror in 1972. Onwentsia Club is an 18-hole golf course in the central United States, located in Lake Forest, Illinois, a suburb north of Chicago. Course history In Lake County, the par-71 course is from the back tees; it has a course rating of 72.8 with a slope rating of 134, on Chicago ( bent) grass. Charles B. Macdonald designed the first nine holes in 1895; the second nine was designed in 1898 by Herbert J. Tweedie, James Foulis and Robert Foulis. The course was subsequently redesigned by Tom Doak. Country Club Of Detroit
Country Club of Detroit, founded in 1897, is a private country club in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. The architectural firm of Smith Hinchman & Grylls, known today as the SmithGroup, designed the Tudor Revival styled country club in 1927. H. S. Colt redesigned the country club's original golf course—designed by Bert Way—in 1912 and his partner Charles Alison later modified the design. In 1952, the club commissioned Robert Trent Jones, Sr. to complete a full redesign, and in 2011, the club fully renovated the course. in order to return to the original Colt and Alison design with a slightly updated interpretation. Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club
Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club is located in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The golf course, designed and built by noted golf course architect Perry Maxwell, hosted the 1952–1954 Ardmore Open as well as the 1954 LPGA Ardmore Open. History of Dornick Hills The Dornick Hills Golf Course was named from the Gaelic word "Dornick" meaning "small rocks". Thousands of these rocks had to be removed before the course could be built. There are still several outcroppings of the natural rock formations on the golf course, including the cliff at the signature "Cliff Hole". Sebonack Golf Club is a private golf course in Southampton, New York, located on the Great Peconic Bay on Long Island.
