To Norway, Home of Giants ( no, For Norge, Kiæmpers Fødeland) was the Norwegian contribution to the 1979 Rose d'Or in Montreux, where it won two prizes. The short comedy film was directed by Johnny Bergh and Bjørn Sand. The script was written by Knut Aunbu, Johnny Bergh, Bjørn Sand, and Erik Søby. The film was a mock report from Norway, presented by the English reporter Norman Fearless (John Cleese). The film premiered on May 5, 1979. Johnny Bergh
Johnny Odd Bergh (May 6, 1934 – December 23, 2014) was a Norwegian producer, scriptwriter and director. He was a key player in the development of Norwegian television, and one of the most influential people in Norwegian entertainment until the mid 90s. Biography Bergh started his career as a jazz musician and comedy actor in Bergen, and studied acting at the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre. In 1958 he was recruited to the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation - two years before regular television broadcasts started in Norway - as employee number 12. After just a few years he became a prominent director and producer. As one of the first TV workers in Norway, Bergh worked for the first years with everything from the Nobel Peace Prize and the news to theatre and large studio shows. Aud Schønemann (13 November 1922 – 30 October 2006) was a Norwegian actress, regarded by many as the leading comedienne of her generation in Norway. She was born in Østre Aker, and was a daughter of actor August Schønemann and dancer Dagmar Kristensen. She started her acting career in 1945, and is probably best known for her role as Valborg Jensen in the Olsenbanden movies, as Marve Fleksnes' mother on the long-running Norwegian television comedy ''Fleksnes Fataliteter'' and as the janitor's wife in the comedy film ''Skulle det dukke opp flere lik er det bare å ringe'' (based on the play ''BusyBody'' by Jack Popplewell). Sverre Wilberg (24 December 1929 – 19 July 1996) was a Norway, Norwegian actor, perhaps best remembered as the clumsy police superintendent Hermansen, always going after Egon and the rest of Olsenbanden.
