Times of India Sports Awards, also known as TOISA, are annual sports awards given by The Times of India to Indian athletes. The aim is to celebrate excellence achieved by the players in sports. Anahat Singh
Anahat Singh (born 13 March 2008) is an Indian squash player and a member of the national team. She has won 21 tour titles and is a double gold medalist at the Asian Championships. Singh is ranked 54th in the world, as of June 2025. Early life Singh was born in Delhi on 13 March 2008 to Tani Vadehra and Gursharan Singh. While her mother is an interior designer, her father is a lawyer. Both her parents used to play field hockey. Her uncle used to play tennis. Inspired by P. V. Lakshya Sen (born 16 August 2001) is an Indian badminton player. He's a former World Junior No. 1. Sen is a bronze medalist at the World Championships, a gold medalist at the Thomas Cup, a silver medalist at the Asian Games and a gold and silver medalist at the Commonwealth Games. Parul Chaudhary (born 15 April 1995) is an Indian athlete from Uttar Pradesh, who specialises in 5000 metres and 3000 metres steeplechase. She is the first Indian runner to clock a sub-9 minute time in the women's 3000m. Early life Chaudhary hails from Iklauta Village near Meerut. She is one of four children of Krishanpal Chaudhary and Rajesh Devi. Parul ran barefoot as a teenager and competed in 800 metres in her school starting 2011. Jyothi Surekha Vennam (born 3 July 1996) is an Indian compound archer. She has won multiple gold medals in the compound archery event at the Archery World Cup, World Archery Championships and Asian Games. Ojas Pravin Deotale is an Indian compound archer. On 5 August 2023, he won the gold medal in the men's individual compound event at 2023 World Archery Championships in Berlin, becoming the first Indian male archer to do so. Early life Deotale is from Nagpur. As a kid, he would fashion bows and arrows by dismantling brooms in his house, forcing his mother to buy extra brooms. Ramachandran Ramesh (born 20 April 1976), also known as R. B. Ramesh, is an Indian chess grandmaster (GM) from Chennai who won the 2002 British Championship and the 2007 Commonwealth Championship. Deepali Deshpande (born 3 August 1969) is an Indian coach and former sport shooter. She won a silver medal in rifle shooting at the 2004 Asian Shooting Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and was selected to compete for India at the 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing nineteenth in the rifle three positions.
