''Tico-Tico no Fubá'' is a 1952 in film, 1952 Brazilian drama film directed by Adolfo Celi and starring Anselmo Duarte. It was entered into the 1952 Cannes Film Festival. The film is a fictionalized biography of Brazilian composer Zequinha de Abreu (1880–1935), who penned the song "Tico-Tico no Fubá" that became an international hit in the 1940s. Adolfo Celi
Adolfo Celi (; 27 July 1922 – 19 February 1986) was an Italian film actor and director. Born in Curcuraci, Messina, Sicily, Celi appeared in nearly 100 films, specialising in international villains. Although a prominent actor in Italian cinema and famed for many roles, he is best remembered internationally for his portrayal of Emilio Largo in the 1965 James Bond film '' Thunderball''. Celi later spoofed his ''Thunderball'' role in the film '' OK Connery'' (aka ''Operation Double 007'') opposite Sean Connery's brother, Neil Connery. Life and career Celi became a film actor in post-war Italy. He left the Italian film industry when he emigrated to Brazil where he co-founded the Teatro Brasileiro de Comédia along with the Brazilian stage greats Paulo Autran and Tônia Carrero in São Paulo. Maria Antonieta Portocarrero Thedim (Given name, née de Farias; 23 August 1922 – 3 March 2018), known professionally as Tônia Carrero, was a Brazilian actress. Early life Carrero was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Career She made her theater debut at the Brazilian Theater of Comedy (TBC) in São Paulo, with the play ''Um Deus Dormiu Lá em Casa,'' opposite actor Paulo Autran. Later she formed with her husband Adolfo Celi, and Autran, the Tonia-Celi-Autran Company (CTCA), which in the 1950s and 1960s revolutionized the Brazilian theater scene by performing a wide repertoire from classical pieces by Shakespeare and Carlo Goldoni to avant-garde works such as Sartre.
