Cole County, Missouri
Cole County is located in the central part of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, its population was 77,279. Its county seat and largest city is Jefferson City, the state capital. The county was organized November 16, 1820, and named after pioneer William Temple Cole who built Cole's Fort in Boonville. Cole County is in the Jefferson City, MO Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cole Motor Car Company
The Cole Motor Car Company was an early automobile maker based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Cole automobiles were built from 1908 until 1925. They were quality-built luxury cars. The make is a pioneer of the V8 engine. Early years Joseph J. Cole (1869–1925) made his first attempt to build a car in 1903 at Rockford, Illinois. Together with his son, he owned a shop where they sold wheels, automobiles, motor bikes, and even lawn mowers, and also performed mechanical repairs. Together they worked on a 4-cylinder touring car that was planned to be sold as the Rockford. The project went nowhere, and instead they opened a Rambler (automobile), Rambler automobile dealership. In 1904, Cole bought the Gates-Osborne Carriage Company and soon renamed it the Cole Carriage Company. There, he built his first automobile. The River Cole is a river in the English Midlands. It rises on the lower slopes of Forhill, one of the south-western ramparts of the Birmingham Plateau, at Red Hill and flows south before flowing largely north-east across the plateau to enter the River Blythe below Coleshill, near Ladywalk, shortly before the Blythe meets the Tame. This then joins the Trent, whose waters reach the North Sea via the Humber Estuary. River Cole, Wiltshire
The River Cole is a tributary of the River Thames in England which flows through Wiltshire and Oxfordshire, forming part of the border between the two counties. Course The river rises in Swindon, east of the town centre in the Walcot area. Much of its upper course has been culverted and built over; it can be seen east of the Greenbridge retail park, which it flows through in a northeasterly direction. From there it is culverted, across to Slade Drive where it turns southeast for about three quarters of a mile. At the Piccadilly roundabout it turns abruptly east and skirts the Coleview Estate. It flows east past Covingham and under Merlin Way, through a flood marsh and out under the A419 road. Cole is a town in McClain County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 624 at the 2020 census, up from 555 in 2010. History Cole was founded on of land donated by Mrs. A. E. Cunningham and Judge Presley Cole. The town was named "Cole" after it was decided "Cunningham" was too long a name. Cole's first post office, created in 1912, was in the Cunningham home, though it was moved later to Read's General Merchandise Store. The community was hit by an EF3 tornado on the evening of April 19, 2023, destroying multiple houses and killing one person. Geography Cole is in central McClain County, between Blanchard to the northwest, Newcastle to the north, Goldsby to the northeast, Washington to the southeast, and Dibble to the southwest. The Frank Nelson Cole Prize, or Cole Prize for short, is one of twenty-two prizes awarded to mathematicians by the American Mathematical Society, one for an outstanding contribution to algebra, and the other for an outstanding contribution to number theory.. Cole (for Bruton) Railway Station
Cole (for Bruton) railway station was a station on the Somerset and Dorset Railway in South Somerset, serving the village of Cole, which is now virtually joined to the village of Pitcombe and the town of Bruton. Cole was the station where the Dorset Central Railway line from Templecombe met the Somerset Central Railway line from Glastonbury and Street railway station in 1862. Later that year the two companies combined to form the Somerset and Dorset Railway. Just north of the station the line crossed the Wilts, Somerset and Weymouth Railway although the two railways were not connected here.
