Thomas Seymour Hill
Thomas Seymour Hill (21 February 1893 – 1 August 1977), invariably referred to as T. S. Hill, was a leading Australian rules football administrator in the SANFL between 1926 and 1963. History Hill was born at Beulah road, Norwood, close to Norwood Oval, and went to school in Marryatville. His first employment was ten years in the wheat trade with Dalgety & Co., followed by Norman & Co. As a youngster he attended Clayton Congregational Church, played football with the church team, and was involved in other church activities such as their Literary Society and Model Parliament. Around 1913 he organised a basketball team with E. Wadham, E. A. Johnson, and H. E. P. Whitfield that played in Melbourne. He accepted a position with the Federal Mutual Insurance Company when A. J. Richardson left for England with the Australian XI in 1926. Hill played for the East Torrens Cricket Club (Richardson's old team), and was their secretary 1924–1926. Australian Rules Football
Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an Australian rules football playing field, oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the Football (ball)#Australian rules football, oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. Australian Football Hall Of Fame
The Australian Football Hall of Fame was established in 1996, the 1996 AFL season, centenary year of the Australian Football League, to help recognise the contributions made to the sport of Australian rules football by players, umpires, media personalities, coaches and administrators. The initial intake included 136 inductees, with twelve awarded Legend status. As of 2025, this figure has grown to more than 300, including 33 Legends. Australian National Football Council
The Australian National Football Council (ANFC) was the national governing body for Australian rules football in Australia from 1906 until 1995. The council was a body of delegates representing each of the principal leagues which controlled the sport in their respective regions. The council was the owner of the laws of the game and managed interstate administrative and football matters. Its function was superseded by the AFL Commission. The council underwent several name changes during its existence, and at different times it was also known as: the Australasian Football Council (1906–1919), the Australian Football Council (1920–1927 and 1973–1975), the National Football League (NFL) (1975–1989) and the National Australian Football Council (NAFC) (1989–1995).
