Thomas P. O'Brien
Thomas Peter O'Brien (born June 19, 1959) is an American white collar criminal defense lawyer at the Los Angeles law office of Ellis George Cipollone O’Brien Annaguey LLP. He was the United States Attorney for the Central District of California from October 2007 to September 2009. Education and military service O'Brien graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1981, where he earned his bachelor's degree, and from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1993, where he was an associate editor of the San Diego Law Review and received his degree with honors. He accumulated 2,000 flight hours as a radar intercept officer in the F-14 fighter aircraft, and is a graduate of the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School. United States attorneys are officials of the U.S. Department of Justice who serve as the chief federal law enforcement officers in each of the 94 U.S. federal judicial districts. Roger Mahony
Roger Michael Mahony (born February 27, 1936) is an American Catholic retired prelate who served as Archbishop of Los Angeles from 1985 to 2011. He previously served as an auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Fresno from 1975 to 1980 and Bishop of Stockton from 1980 to 1985. Born in Los Angeles and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Mahony was ordained to the priesthood in 1962. He was appointed auxiliary bishop of Fresno in January 1975 and consecrated bishop in March 1975. Mahony was then appointed bishop of Stockton in 1980. In 1985, he was appointed archbishop of Los Angeles by Pope John Paul II, and became the first Los Angeles native to hold the office.
