Thomas N. Bonner
Thomas Neville Bonner (28 May 1923 – 2 September 2003) was professor emeritus at Wayne State University and a leading historian of medicine. Bonner was the twelfth President of the University of New Hampshire from 1971 to 1974. After 3 years at UNH he became the fifteenth president of Union College from 1974 to 1978. He then became the seventh president of Wayne State University from 1978 to 1982. Bonner was a U.S. Army World War II veteran as part of the Army Signal Intelligence Unit in Europe. He is buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona. National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, also known as Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, is a United States National Cemetery located in the city of Phoenix in Maricopa County, Arizona. It encompasses , and as of the end of 2005, had 43,672 interments. It is one of two national cemeteries in Arizona (the other is Prescott National Cemetery). History A state law passed in 1976, by then-Governor Raul Hector Castro, authorized the establishment of a large veterans' cemetery. Abraham Flexner
Abraham Flexner (November 13, 1866 – September 21, 1959) was an American educator, best known for his role in the 20th century reform of medical and higher education in the United States and Canada. After founding and directing a college-preparatory school in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, Flexner published a critical assessment of the state of the American educational system in 1908 titled ''The American College: A Criticism''. His work attracted the Carnegie Foundation to commission an in-depth evaluation into 155 medical schools in the US and Canada. It was his resultant self-titled ''Flexner Report'', published in 1910, that sparked the reform of medical education in the United States and Canada. Flexner was also a founder of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, which brought together some of the greatest minds in history to collaborate on intellectual discovery and research.
