The Way International
The Way International is a Nondenominational Christianity, nondenominational Christian ministry based in New Knoxville, Ohio. The followers congregate primarily in home fellowships located throughout the United States, two US territories, and in over 30 countries. It was founded by Victor Paul Wierwille in 1942 as a radio program, subsequently becoming ''The Chimes Hour Youth Caravan'' in 1947, and The Way, Inc., in 1955. The ministry distributes publications such as ''The Way Magazine'' through its company, American Christian Press, and has developed and promotes classes and other programs, some of which are in several languages. It formed The Way Corps, a leadership training program, in 1970. Victor Paul Wierwille
Victor Paul Wierwille (December 31, 1916 – May 20, 1985) was an American evangelical writer and the founder of The Way International (TWI). Biography Victor Paul Wierwille was born on December 31, 1916, in New Knoxville, Ohio, to Ernst Henry Wierwille and Emma Sophia Niemeyer. He was raised in and later ordained by the Evangelical and Reformed Church (a predecessor of the United Church of Christ) in 1941, and he officially left that church in 1957. Wierwille graduated from Mission House College with Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Theology degrees. He then studied at The University of Chicago Divinity School and received a Master of Theology in practical theology from Princeton Theological Seminary. Wierwille later studied at Pikes Peak Bible Seminary, a non-accredited institution, and received a doctorate in theology. WLOK (Ohio)
WLOK and WLOK-FM were a pair of radio stations licensed to Lima, Ohio, United States, and broadcast at and . The AM station signed on in 1936, while the FM was launched in 1948. Both stations transmitted from facilities on Rice Avenue, northwest of downtown Lima. For most of its history, WLOK was owned by the Fort Industry Company, predecessor to Storer Broadcasting, and later majority-owned by famed Ohio State Buckeyes football player Lloyd Pixley. Under Pixley ownership, WLOK-TV signed on at channel 73 as an early UHF station. After Pixley's death in 1954, WLOK radio and television were sold to the owners of WIMA radio, which held a permit for channel 35; it surrendered the licenses for WLOK radio outright on December 8, 1954, and transferred WLOK-TV to the lower dial position in April 1955, renaming it WIMA-TV. WRFD (880 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to both Columbus and Worthington, Ohio. It is owned by the Salem Media Group and broadcasts a Christian talk and teaching radio format. WRFD and sister station WTOH (98.9 FM) share studios on North High Street in the northwest portion of Columbus. By day, WRFD is powered at 23,000 watts non-directional. (6,100 watts during critical hours.) The AM transmitter is near the former site of Cooper Stadium in the Franklinton section of the city's west side. WRFD is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission as a daytime-only station. Defiance is a city in Defiance County, Ohio, United States, and its county seat. The population was 17,066 at the 2020 census. It is located at the confluence of the Auglaize and Maumee rivers about southwest of Toledo and northeast of Fort Wayne, Indiana, in Ohio's northwestern corner. Its studio's and office are located on West Market Street, and its transmitter is located on McClain Road in Fort Shawnee, Ohio, Fort Shawnee. It is Lima's first and oldest commercial radio station.
