Kiss (band)
Kiss (commonly styled as KISS) was an American rock music, rock band formed in New York City in 1973 by Paul Stanley (vocals, rhythm guitar), Gene Simmons (vocals, bass guitar), Ace Frehley (lead guitar, vocals) and Peter Criss (drums, vocals). Known for their face paint and stage outfits, the group rose to prominence in the mid-1970s with shock rock–style live performances which featured fire-breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits and pyrotechnics. The band went through several lineup changes, with Stanley and Simmons remaining the only consistent members. The final lineup consisted of them, Tommy Thayer (lead guitar, vocals) and Eric Singer (drums, vocals). With their makeup and costumes, the band members took on the personas of comic book-style characters: the Starchild (Stanley), the Demon (Simmons), the Spaceman or Space Ace (Frehley), and the Catman (Criss). During the second half of the 1970s, Kiss became one of America's mos ...

Home Sweet Home (Mötley Crüe Song)
"Home Sweet Home" is a power ballad by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. It was originally released in 1985 on the album ''Theatre of Pain'', and again in 1991 for the '' Decade of Decadence 81-91'' compilation album. Some of the original video was shot in Houston, Texas live at The Summit during the 1985 Theatre of Pain tour. They performed the song twice that night apparently to get more video footage. "Home Sweet Home" was released and remixed twice: once for the original promotion for the single in 1985. A radio only promo 12" with the remix was sent to stations, but not released commercially until the 1988 Japan-only EP '' Raw Tracks.'' ...

Shock Me
"Shock Me" is a song by American rock band Kiss that first appeared on their 1977 album ''Love Gun''. It was written by lead guitarist Ace Frehley, who made his lead vocal debut with the track. The song was inspired by an event that took place during Kiss' ''Rock and Roll Over'' tour, when he was nearly electrocuted from his electric guitar. It was ranked #50 in ''Guitar World'' magazine's "100 Greatest Guitar Solos Ever". Background On December 12, 1976, Kiss performed a concert at the Lakeland Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida. During the opening song, Frehley touched a metal staircase railing, which was ungrounded. He was knocked to the ground, and the concert was delayed for 30 minutes. Creatures Of The Night
''Creatures of the Night'' is the tenth studio album by American rock band Kiss, released in 1982. It was the band's last for Casablanca Records, the only label for which Kiss had recorded up to that point. It is also the band's last album recorded with Ace Frehley credited as an official member and their first album with Vinnie Vincent, as the initially uncredited lead guitarist. Vincent would later be credited but not featured on the cover of the 1985 reissue of the album. It was also Kiss's last album to feature the band with their trademark makeup until the release of '' Psycho Circus'' in 1998. Background By 1982, Kiss's popularity in the US had plummeted due to changing musical tastes and their move away from the anthemic hard rock of their earlier material. 1979's ''Dynasty'', while commercially successful, alienated ma ...

"Firehouse" is a song by American rock band Kiss, released in 1974 on their eponymous debut album. During live performances, bassist Gene Simmons has breathed fire, with red lights flashing and sirens sounding. The track has remained a concert staple and is regarded as one of the band's classic songs. With its fan-favorite status, the song is one of the most played songs in the Kiss catalog, having been played over 1,000 times during their career. Background Paul Stanley wrote the song while he attended the High School of Music & Art in New York City. He said he was inspired by British rock group the Move's song "Fire Brigade". The two tracks are similar in their choruses ("Get the fire brigade" and "Get the firehouse") and background sound effects. I Love It Loud
"I Love It Loud" is a song by American rock band Kiss. It was released on their 1982 album ''Creatures of the Night''. It was proven to be a staple of the band's live show, being performed on almost every tour the band had done aside from the Reunion and Psycho Circus tours. Background The track was written by bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons and guitarist Vinnie Vincent, although some versions of the album mistakenly credit Paul Stanley and Vincent. The latter had been working with songwriter Adam Mitchell when he discovered that Mitchell had connections to Kiss, and Vincent made it a point to meet Simmons through Mitchell. After meeting and exchanging phone numbers with Simmons, the two got together and wrote "I Love It Loud" in addition to another song called " Killer", which appeared on the ''Creatures'' album during the same writing session. The song fades out, only to come back even louder, and then fades out a second time. This idea was taken from the Beatles' songs " Helte ...

Kickstart My Heart
"Kickstart My Heart" is a song by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, originally released on their 1989 album, '' Dr. Feelgood''. Released as the album's second single in 1989, "Kickstart My Heart" reached number 27 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in the United States in early 1990. In a 2015 interview, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx related the origins of "Kickstart My Heart", which he wrote while the band was already working on ''Dr. Feelgood''. Sixx was playing acoustic guitar in his house while scribbling words on a piece of paper. When the group’s former manager read the words, he encouraged Sixx to share it with the rest of the band. Sixx was reluctant, but eventually did show the band and the track came together quickly. The phrase "kickstart my heart" supposedly refers to Sixx's overdose incident where a paramedic injected his heart with adrenaline; Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler disputes the accuracy of the story, saying he revived Sixx before the param ...
