''The Rose of Tistelön'' (Swedish: ''Rosen på Tistelön'') is a 1945 Swedish historical romantic drama film directed by Åke Ohberg and starring Eva Henning, John Ekman and Arnold Sjöstrand.Krawc p.383 It was shot at the Centrumateljéerna Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director Bibi Lindström. It is based on the 1842 novel ''The Rose of Tistelön'' by Emilie Flygare-Carlén. Synopsis In Bohuslän during the nineteenth century, the daughter of a notorious smuggler falls in love with the son of a customs officer. Åke Ohberg (20 July 1905 – 18 July 1975) was a Swedish actor and film director. He appeared in about 30 roles in films between 1932 and 1961. Ohberg was born to Johan and Hilda Ohberg in Västerås, Sweden. Marriage and Family He married actress Birgit Chenon but that marriage did not last. Bengt Ekerot
Nils Bengt Folke Ekerot (8 February 1920 – 26 November 1971) was a Swedish actor and stage director best known for portraying Death in '' The Seventh Seal'' (1957) directed by Ingmar Bergman. In 1956, he directed the world premiere of '' Long Day's Journey into Night'', considered the magnum opus of American playwright Eugene O'Neill. Early life Ekerot was born in Stockholm. Career He had several roles in Swedish films, but in Ingmar Bergman's '' The Seventh Seal'' (1957) he portrayed Death as a white-faced man in a black cloak. The decision to perform the role in this way was a joint decision between the actor and director. Linnéa Hillberg
Linnéa Paulina Hillberg ; 26 October 1892 – 3 July 1977) was a Swedish actress. Biography Born in Uddevalla on the Swedish west coast, Linnéa Hillberg made her stage debut in 1913. Early on she acted (1914–18) with the Karin Swanström Theatre Company and 1920–27 she was part of Ernst Eklund's Komediteatern (The Comedy Theatre).
