The Last Of The Secret Agents
''The Last of the Secret Agents?'' is a 1966 American comedy film that spoofs the spy film genre, starring the then-popular comedy team of Allen & Rossi. Plot Two Americans in Paris (Allen & Rossi) are reluctantly recruited by the Good Guys Institute (GGI) led by J. Frederick Duval (John Williams) to thwart the plans of the evil crime and espionage organisation THEM led by Zoltan Schubach (Theo Marcuse). Already with a cache of stolen priceless international art treasures, THEM plots to steal the ''Venus de Milo'' with the intention of reattaching its two arms of which they are in possession. In addition to the then popular spy film genre, the film spoofs many other items of the day such as cigarette commercials. Norman Abbott
Norman Abbott (July 11, 1922 – July 9, 2016) was an American vaudevillian, actor, producer and television director. Abbott was born in New York City, where his mother and his uncle, comedian Bud Abbott of Abbott and Costello, raised him. His early experience in entertainment was as a vaudeville performer, including summers working the 'borscht circuit" in resorts in the Catskill Mountains of New York. While Abbott and Costello were filming '' Rio Rita'' in 1942, Bud Abbott arranged for his nephew to play an unbilled bit in the movie. This led to two more small roles in MGM "B" features. In the early 1940s, he and Pat Costello (brother of Lou Costello) worked as stand-ins for Abbott and Costello during the filming of '' Who Done It?'' "Us Tareyton smokers would rather fight than switch!" is a slogan that appeared in magazine, newspaper, and television advertisements for Tareyton cigarettes from 1963 until 1981. It was the American Tobacco Company's most visible advertising campaign in the 1960s and 1970s. Beginnings The slogan was created by James Jordan of the BBDO advertising agency. The first print advertisement appeared in ''Life'' magazine on October 11, 1963. The advertisements would appear solely in print between 1963 and 1966. In 1966, the first television advertisements with the slogan aired. The target of the campaign was to create a sense of loyalty amongst Tareyton smokers. The models were made to look as though they each had a black eye, presumably earned in battles with smokers of other cigarettes. Morton David Alpern (March 23, 1922 – February 12, 2018), better known as Marty Allen, was an American comedian, actor, and philanthropist. He worked as a comedy headliner in nightclubs, as a dramatic actor in television roles, and was once called "The Darling of Daytime TV". A periorbital hematoma, commonly called a black eye or a shiner (associated with boxing or stick sports such as hockey), is bruising around the eye commonly due to an injury to the face rather than to the eye. The name refers to the dark-colored bruising which is the result of accumulated blood and fluid in the loose areolar tissue following a blow to the head.
