The Beach Girls And The Monster
''The Beach Girls and the Monster'' (retitled ''Monster from the Surf'' for 1966 TV release) is a horror and beach party film, released in 1965, directed by and starring Jon Hall. It is notable for its surf music instrumental soundtrack, bad acting, and not-very-terrifying-monster. Plot Three surfers and their girlfriends are at the beach when one of the girls, Bunny, runs away from her boyfriend in fun. She is found dead near a cave after being attacked by a seaweed-covered lizard humanoid creature. The sheriff finds mysterious footprints left in the sand, and takes a cast to the laboratory of Dr. Otto Lindsay, a leading oceanographer. Dr. Lindsay's opinion is that it could be from a "fantigua fish", a carnivorous maneater, which has grown large enough to exist out of the ocean in a loathsome seaweed-shrouded anthropomorphic form. Jon Hall (actor)
Jon Hall (born Charles Felix Locher, February 23, 1915 – December 13, 1979) was an American film actor known for playing a variety of adventurous roles, as in 1937's '' The Hurricane'', and later when contracted to Universal Pictures, including ''Invisible Agent'', ''The Invisible Man's Revenge'', and six films with Maria Montez. He was also the creator and star of the '' Ramar of the Jungle'' television series that ran from 1952 to 1954. The Whisky a Go Go (informally nicknamed The Whisky) is a historic nightclub in West Hollywood, California, United States. The Thetis Lake Monster is a legendary creature and admitted hoax of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. In 1972, two teenage boys claimed to see a monster emerge from Thetis Lake beach. The description of the creature that the teenagers gave matched the description of the Gill-man from the 1954 film ''Creature from the Black Lagoon''. History On 22 August 1972, the ''Victoria Daily Times'' reported that two local teen boys claimed to have seen a creature with "silvery scaled skin, sharp claws, and spikes on its head" while swimming at Thetis Lake beach in the evening.
