''The Banshees of Inisherin'' is a 2022 black tragicomedy film written and directed by Martin McDonagh. The film follows two lifelong friends (Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson) who find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship, with alarming consequences for both of them; Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan also star. Martin McDonagh
Martin Faranan McDonagh (; born 26 March 1970) is a British-Irish playwright, screenwriter, producer, and director. Born and brought up in London, he is the son of Irish parents. He is known as one of the most acclaimed modern playwrights whose work has spanned over two decades. He is celebrated for his absurdist black humor which often challenges the modern theatre aesthetic. Tragicomedy is a literary genre that blends aspects of both tragic and comic forms.
