Bruno Tesch
Bruno Emil Tesch (14 August 1890 – 16 May 1946) was a German chemist and entrepreneur. Together with Gerhard Peters and Walter Heerdt, he invented the insecticide Zyklon B. He was the owner of Tesch & Stabenow (called ''Testa''), a pest control company he co-founded in 1924 with Paul Stabenow in Hamburg, Germany. During the Holocaust, Tesch sold vast quantities of Zyklon B, utilizing his pesticide as a way to commit genocide. Over 1.1 million people were murdered by the Nazis using Zyklon B. A former employee of Tesch later said he was motivated not by ideology, but financial gain. Following the end of World War II, he was arrested by British occupation authorities, tried as a war criminal, and executed. Tesch and his deputy executive, Karl Weinbacher, were the only businessmen to be executed for their role in Nazi war crimes in Western Europe. Johanna Tesch
Johanna Friederike Tesch (born Carillon; 24 March 1875 – 13 March 1945) was a leading German Social Democratic Party politician, most active on the national stage during the 1920s. After 1933, as Germany became a one party dictatorship, she and her husband Richard stayed in the country. She died in Ravensbrück concentration camp. Life Early years Johanna Friederike Carillon was born into a family originally of Huguenot provenance in the Sachsenhausen quarter of Frankfurt am Main, on the south side of the river. She attended school locally at the ''"Souchay-Mittelschule"'' between 1882 and 1889, but received no higher education or training. Liesl Dorothy Tesch Order of Australia, AM (born 17 May 1969) is an Australian wheelchair basketball player, sailor, and politician. She is a New South Wales Labor Party, Labor Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, representing Electoral district of Gosford, Gosford since the 2017 Gosford state by-election. Tesch became an incomplete paraplegic after a mountain bike accident at the age of 19. She competed in her national wheelchair basketball team at five paralympics, winning three medals, and was the first woman to play the sport professionally. Maria Tesch
Hedvig Maria Tesch (23 June 1850 – 5 April 1936) was a Swedish professional photographer who had a studio in Linköping. She specialised in portrait photography, and was successful enough to open a second branch in Eksjö. As a result of her productive and highly successful business, thousands of her photographs remain in the collections of the local museum and county library. Biography Born in Eksjö on 23 June 1850, Tesch became a photographer and business owner at a young age. It is not clear how she learned her skills. She had spent a month in Stockholm, where she may possibly have trained with established photographer Gösta Florman, and another in Berlin. Tesch moved to Linköping in 1873 where she opened a studio in a building on the corner of Drottninggatan and Nygatan. It was so successful that a few years later, she bought the property. Silke Tesch
Silke Tesch (born 5 July 1958 in Dautphetal-Holzhausen) is a German politician and a former member of the Parliament of Hesse for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). On 5 April 2003, she was elected to the Parliament of Hesse. She was a member of the Bundesversammlung in 2004. She was reelected to Parliament in the 2008 Hesse state election. On 3 November 2008, however, she declared, together with fellow SPD MPs Carmen Everts, Jürgen Walter and Dagmar Metzger, that she would not support Andrea Ypsilanti as Prime Minister of Hesse, in a planned election.
