Ted Scherman
Ted Scherman (born October 3, 1966) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Scherman was born in San Francisco and in 1985 represented the United States in the Junior Davis Cup competition. In the late 1980s he played at UC Berkeley, where he achieved All-American honors in 1987 and 1988. Following his graduation in 1989 he turned professional. A right-handed player, Scherman played in the main draw of the Queensland Open in 1989, beating Grant Connell in the first round, before being eliminated in the second round by Niclas Kroon. Most of his appearances at the top level of the professional tour were in doubles. He made it to 114 in the world in that format and was a semi-finalist in the ATP Tour tournament at Bordeaux in 1991, with Ģirts Dzelde. Andrew Castle
Andrew Nicholas Castle (born 15 November 1963) is a British broadcaster and former tennis player. Castle was UK number 1 in singles tennis in 1986, reaching as high as World No. 80 in June 1988, and No. 45 in doubles in December 1988, with Tim Wilkison of the United States. Castle reached one Grand Slam final in his career in the 1987 Australian Open mixed doubles event with Anne Hobbs. He won three ATP titles in men's doubles, as well as one title on the Challenger tour. He won in prize money (equivalent to in 1992). Matt Anger (born June 20, 1963) is an American former professional tennis player. He is now the head men's tennis coach at the University of Washington. Professional tennis career Anger grew up in Pleasanton, California, and played at Amador Valley High School. He went on to be named the national 16-and-under singles champion in 1979 and to win the 1981 junior Wimbledon boys' singles title, resulting in a No. 1 ranking in the world by Tennis Magazine. He played collegiate tennis at USC from 1982 to 1984. He was a three-time All-American in these three years and was a Pac-10 singles finalist in 2003. In the same year, he led the USC Trojans to a third-place NCAA finish. Kenny Thorne
Kenny Thorne (born January 24, 1966) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Thorne played collegiately for Georgia Tech from 1985 to 1988, and then played professionally from 1989 to 1997. He is currently the head coach of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men's tennis team. College career Thorne played four seasons for Georgia Tech and saw success both as a singles and doubles player. In doubles, he competed in the 1988 NCAA doubles tournament with partner, Bryan Shelton, after a 24-win doubles season. Thorne finished with 75 career doubles wins (all matches). Bryan Shelton
Bryan Shelton (born December 22, 1965) is an American college tennis coach and former professional tennis player. Shelton played collegiately for Georgia Tech from 1985 to 1988, and then played professionally from 1989 to 1997. He subsequently returned to his alma mater to coach the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's tennis team, which won the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship in 2007. He is currently the head coach of the Florida Gators men's tennis team of the University of Florida, where he coached the Gators to winning the 2021 NCAA Championship.
