Team9
Team9 is the work of the English-Australian producer Neil Mason. Most of his work is unauthorized mashups. Team9 formed in 1997 as a five-piece band and released two albums, ''Gas and Air'' in 1999 and ''My Tape Machine'' in 2002. Originally playing guitar based pop, by 2002 Team9 were incorporating samples, loops and synths into their production. Having slowly evolved over three years into a one-man outfit, Team9 played in the web based bootleg scene for a number of years before getting more involved in late 2004. Throughout 2005, Team9 featured on Live 105 and Indie 103 in the US, Qui FM and NRJ in France, BBC Radio 1 and the Remix and Rinse shows on XFM in the UK. ''American Edit'' is a Mashup (music), mashup album released by Party Ben and Team9 under the shared alias Dean Gray. Its primary basis is the Green Day album ''American Idiot (album), American Idiot''—the name "Dean Gray" is a spoonerism of "Green Day". Triple J
Triple J is an Australian government-funded national radio station founded in 1975 as a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). It aims to appeal to young listeners of alternative music, and plays far more Australian content than commercial networks. The station was set up under the Gough Whitlam government, wanting to extend the appeal of the ABC to young Australians. Initially broadcasting as 2JJ or Double Jay from 19 January 1975, it stood apart from commercial stations with its lack of private advertising and its fringe music programming. Following a transition to FM in 1981, the station rebranded as 2JJJ or Triple J as it expanded regionally throughout the 1990s. In popular music, a cover version, cover song, remake, revival, or simply cover is a new performance or recording by a musician other than the original performer or composer of the song. Originally, it referred to a version of a song released around the same time as the original in order to compete with it. Now, it refers to any subsequent version performed after the original.
