Tales Don't Tell Themselves
''Tales Don't Tell Themselves'' is the third album by Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral for a Friend. It charted at #3 in the UK selling 25,000 copies in its first week and later went silver. It was released on 14 May 2007. Before the release of the album, the band released several short studio update videos informing fans of their progress. During the recording of the album, Matt Davies used the same microphone he used to record the group's first album ''Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation'' and Ryan Richards recorded his drum parts by recording cymbals separately from the rest of his drum parts and replacing the normal cymbals with electric ones whilst recording basic drums. Davies plays guitar on several of the songs; this is the first album in which he has done so. Funeral for a Friend are a Welsh post-hardcore band from Bridgend, formed in 2001 and currently consists of Matthew Davies-Kreye (lead vocals), Kris Coombs-Roberts (guitar, backing vocals), Gavin Burrough (guitar, backing vocals), Darran Smith (guitar), Richard Boucher (bass), and Ryan Richards (drums, vocals). The Great Wide Open
''The Great Wide Open'' is a "mini-album" from Funeral for a Friend, the title track taken from the album ''Tales Don't Tell Themselves''. Originally planned as the third single from the album (as announced in a news post on 14 August 2007), it was later deferred by two weeks and expanded to a mini-album in order to release the live tracks recorded in August (see below). Music video The song's music video shows the band playing in a little shack lost on a beach at night with waves resting on the shore. Around the middle of the video, some green, red and white lights flash throughout the house. Mini-album Atlantic Records released a very special mini album on 15 October 2007. Metacritic is a website that aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry.
