Tajikistan Men's National Volleyball Team
The Tajikistan men's national volleyball team represents Tajikistan in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches. Before independence, Tajik-born volleyballers represented Soviet Union, one notable player was Valeri Kravchenko. Tajikistan is yet to participate in any major tournaments. However the team do play friendly matches, back in 2014 they played a series versus Afghanistan. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. USSR Men's National Volleyball Team
The Russia men's national volleyball team is governed by the Russian Volleyball Federation and took part in international volleyball competitions. FIVB considers Russia as the inheritor of the records of Soviet Union (1948–1991) and CIS (1992). The USSR Volleyball Federation joined the FIVB in 1948, a year after the foundation of the international governing body. Valeri Ivanovich Kravchenko (russian: Валерий Иванович Кравченко, 2 February 1939 – 3 September 1996) is a Soviet former volleyball player who competed for the Soviet Union in the 1968 Summer Olympics and in the 1972 Summer Olympics. He was born in the Kabodiyen, Khatlon, Tajik SSR The Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic,, ''Çumhuriji Şūraviji Sotsialistiji Toçikiston''; russian: Таджикская Советская Социалистическая Республика, ''Tadzhikskaya Sovetskaya Sotsialisticheskaya Resp ....
