TV3 (Catalan TV Channel)
TV3 () is the primary television channel of Catalan public broadcaster Televisió de Catalunya, a subsidiary of the CCMA. TV3 broadcasts programmes only in Catalan and Aranese, with an optional dual track in the original language for some foreign-language series and movies, although Spanish is not dubbed or subtitled. TV3 is also a founding member of FORTA. It is funded by the regional autonomous government, the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the CCMA. History TV3 started its trial broadcasts on 10 September 1983 (a day right before the National Day of Catalonia), but its regular broadcasts started a few months later, on 16 January 1984. TV3 was the first television channel to broadcast only in Catalan. Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad, operating as TV3 (pronounced as ''Tivi Tiga''), is a Bangsar-based Mass media in Malaysia, Malaysian free-to-air television channel owned by Malaysian media conglomerate, Media Prima. TV3 is the third oldest TV station in Malaysia. It was launched on 1 June 1984 as the country's first and oldest private television channel. Three (), stylised as +HR=E, is a New Zealand nationwide television channel. Launched on 26 November 1989 as TV3, it was New Zealand's first private broadcasting, privately owned television channel. TV3 (Czech Republic)
TV3 is a Czech free-to-air television channel. The network closed down in December 2001 after its broadcast license was revoked. History TV3 was launched on 25 May 2000 using the regional frequencies of former television channel Galaxie. Its terrestrial coverage was limited to North and East Bohemia, reaching the rest of the country by cable. It started broadcasting at 7:00PM local time with a 60-minute regional newscast followed by the film '' Seductive Beauty''. Its programming included regional breaking news programming with reporters on motorbikes and the purchase of the rights to show WWE Friday Night SmackDown in 2001. The station used the tag called "television for the new millennium" for its promotion, with its target audience skewed towards a young male audience. It was owned by Modern Times Group (MTG) until 2017, when it was acquired by Providence Equity Partners for €115 million. TV3 Latvia () is a Latvian Commercial broadcasting, commercial television channel targeted at a Latvian language audience owned by TV3 Group (Baltics), All Media Baltics, a company owned by investment firm Providence Equity Partners. History TV3 was launched in 19 September 1998 replacing 31. Kanāls, but did not receive a terrestrial license until 2001. The channel has since increased its viewing share to become the most popular channel in Latvia as of September 2007, surpassing its then-closest rival Latvijas Neatkarīgā Televīzija, LNT. TV3 is a commercial television channel targeted at an Estonian language audience owned by Providence Equity Partners. History It was founded in 1996 after two recently established television stations, EVTV and RTV, were merged. TV3 has two sister channels. TV6 is a television channel targeted at entertainment television channel in Estonia, launched in 2002. TV8 is an entertainment television channel, launched as a digital sister channel to TV3 in 2009. TV3 was a commercial television channel broadcast in Hungary. History The beginnings (1994–1997) ''Budapesti Kommunikációs Rt.'', which operated TV3, was founded in 1993, by the Municipality of Budapest at the time of the "media war" in the early 1990s, at the initiative of the assembly of the parties SZDSZ (Alliance of Free Democrats) and Fidesz (Hungarian Civic Alliance). TV3 (''TV tre'') is a Swedish pay television channel owned by Viaplay Group. It was launched on 31 December 1987 by businessman Jan Stenbeck. The channel was initially broadcast across all of Scandinavia. In 1990, separate Danish and Norwegian feeds were launched. The channel's name refers to its launch at a time when television in Sweden was dominated by the two channels of SVT. TV3 (Norway)
TV3 Norway is a commercial television channel targeting Norway owned by Viaplay Group. It was separated from the earlier Pan-Scandinavian version in 1990. Unlike its main rivals, NRK, TV 2 and TVNorge, the channel does not broadcast from Norway but from West Drayton, Middlesex in the United Kingdom, even if the channel is almost solely aimed at Norwegian viewers. This excludes the channel from the strict rules in Norway that apply to advertising (ban on advertisements aimed at children or interrupting programs). Also unlike the other main channels, it wasn't available on analogue terrestrial, having to rely on satellite and cable television for its distribution.
