Christine Urech
Christine Urech (born January 15, 1984 in Biel/Bienne) is a Swiss curler from Lucerne. She won a gold medal at the 2014 and 2016 World Women's Curling Championships as lead for Binia Feltscher. Career In her junior career, Urech played as fourth for Stéphanie Jäggi. They played in the 2004 World Junior Curling Championships, finishing in fifth place. She then played as third for Irene Schori until the 2007–08 season. She then moved to Silvana Tirinzoni's rink to play second until the 2009–10, when she joined Binia Feltscher's rink. After one year, the team added Franziska Kaufmann, and Urech moved down to the lead position. Schori joined Feltscher's rink as third for the next season. The team went to the 2011 European Curling Championships and finished in seventh place. Urech won her first World Curling Tour event in 2013 at the Glynhill Ladies International. Carmen Küng
Carmen Küng (born 30 January 1978) is a curler from Solothurn, Switzerland. Carmen Küng began her senior elite career as the Third for 2002 Olympic Silver medalist Luzia Ebnöther during the 2006–2007 season. (During this season future Olympic teammate Carmen Schäfer threw second stones.) She would later move to the team of Silvana Tirinzoni for the 2008–2009 season. In the following season she joined her current team. Initially she joined Mirjam Ott's team as the Alternate and served in that capacity at both the 2008 and 2009 World Championships. Starting with the 2009–2010 competitive season Carmen Küng has played as the Second for Team Ott. The highlights for the team include winning the Silver medal at the 2009 European Curling Championships and an appearance at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. Carmen Schäfer (curler)
Carmen Schäfer (born 8 January 1981 in Davos) is a Swiss curler. She plays third for Mirjam Ott. Schäfer had a fairly successful Junior career. She was the alternate on the Swiss team (skipped by Silvana Tirinzoni) that won the 1999 World Junior Championships, but she did not play any games. Schäfer skipped the Swiss team at the 2000 and 2001 World Juniors, finishing fourth and winning the bronze medal respectively. In 2000, she lost to the U.S. team (skipped by Laura Delaney) in the bronze medal game, 8–5. She had to beat Moe Meguro's Japanese team to capture the bronze in 2001, winning the game 5–4. In 2007, Schäfer joined Ott's team. They finished in fourth place at the 2007 European Curling Championships. They avenged their defeat at the 2008 Ford World Women's Curling Championship when they won the bronze medal; once again she had to beat Japan and their skip, Meguro. Mirjam Ott
Mirjam Ott (born 27 January 1972 in Bern, Switzerland) is a retired Swiss curler who lives in Laax, Switzerland. She is the 2012 World Curling Champion skip. She is the skip (captain) of the Swiss Olympic Curling Team. She has participated in several Olympic Games contests and has won numerous awards in many other curling events worldwide. Career Ott won the Olympic silver medal twice; in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City (with skip Luzia Ebnöther) and 2006 in Turin (as skip herself), making her the first woman with two Olympic medals in curling. In 2008 the team won the European Championship in Sweden. At the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, her team finished a disappointing fourth place, as Ott's touch completely deserted her late in the semi-final and bronze medal matches. Nicole "Nici" Schwägli (born September 5, 1986) is a Swiss curler from Rubigen. She is the former lead for the Alina Pätz rink and with this rink won the 2015 World Women's Curling Championship. Career Juniors Schwägli won a gold medal representing Switzerland at the 2005 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, playing second for Michèle Jäggi. The team would represent Switzerland at the 2006 World Junior Curling Championships, where they would finish in fourth place overall. They would again represent Switzerland at the 2008 World Junior Curling Championships, finishing in sixth place. Women's Schwägli joined the newly formed Alina Pätz rink in 2013. Nadine Lehmann (born 9 August 1990) is a Swiss curler from Richigen. She is the former third for the Alina Pätz rink and with this rink won the 2015 World Women's Curling Championship. Career Lehmann was an alternate on the 8th place Swiss team at the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships, though she didn't play in any games. Later that year she won a gold medal at the 2012 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship with Martin Rios. The pair would represent Switzerland again at the 2013 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, but finished 6th. After juniors, Lehmann joined the Manuela Siegrist rink, playing second on the team. The team would play in two Grand Slam events, the 2012 Colonial Square Ladies Classic and the 2012 ROGERS Masters of Curling. Lehmann and Siegrist's third, Alina Pätz formed a new rink in 2013. Franziska Kaufmann (born November 3, 1987 in Unterseen) is a Swiss curler from Grindelwald. She won a gold medal at the 2014 and 2016 World Women's Curling Championships as second for Binia Feltscher Career As a junior curler, Kaufmann played in two World Junior Curling Championships. At the 2007 World Junior Curling Championships she played second for the Swiss team, skipped by Sandra Zurbuchen. The team wrapped up the round robin tournament with a 5–4 record, in a three-way tie for fourth place. The team had to play in two tie-break matches to make the playoffs.
