Susquehannock Indians
The Susquehannock people, also called the Conestoga by some English settlers or Andastes were Iroquoian Peoples, Iroquoian Native Americans in the United States, Native Americans who lived in areas adjacent to the Susquehanna River and its Tributary, tributaries, ranging from its upper reaches in the southern part of what is now New York (state), New York (near the lands of the Iroquois, Five Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy), through eastern and central Pennsylvania west of the Pocono Mountains, Poconos and the upper Delaware River (near the lands of the Lenape), with lands extending beyond the mouth of the Susquehanna in Maryland along the west bank of the Potomac River, Potomac at the north end of the Chesapeake Bay.
