Steven Robert Weber (born March 4, 1961) is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as Brian Hackett on the television series ''Wings'' which aired from April 1990 to May 1997 on NBC, as Sam Blue in '' Once and Again'', and Jack Torrance in the TV miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's '' The Shining''. He had a recurring role on '' iZombie'' as Vaughn du Clark. He played Mayor Douglas Hamilton on '' NCIS: New Orleans'' in a recurring role, and as Sergeant First Class Dennis Worcester in ''Hamburger Hill'' (1987). Early life Weber was born in Queens, New York. His mother, Fran (née Frankel), was a nightclub singer, and his father, Stuart Weber, was a nightclub performer and manager of Borscht Belt comedians. Weber embraces his Jewish heritage despite not having received a formal religious education. Steven Weber is a professor at the School of Information and the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. After studying history and international development at Washington University, he received an M.D. and a Ph.D in political science from Stanford University. He is the author of several books about international politics and economics. He is also the editor of ''Globalization and the European Political Economy'' (Columbia University Press, 2000). Perhaps his most well-known book is ''The Success of Open Source'', on the economy and motivations behind open source and free software. Steve Weber
Steven P. Weber (June 22, 1943 – February 7, 2020) was an American folk singer-songwriter and guitarist. Weber is best known as member of the Holy Modal Rounders, a psychedelic folk band that he founded with Peter Stampfel. He and Stampfel were also briefly members of The Fugs. Life and career Weber was born in Philadelphia in 1943 and moved with his mother to Buckingham in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In Bucks County he met musicians such as Robin Remaily, who would later join the Holy Modal Rounders, and Michael Hurley, who was long associated with the band. In 1963, Weber met Peter Stampfel in New York City, introduced by the Greenwich Village figure Antonia, who had dated Weber and would later marry Stampfel. Weber and Stampfel formed the Holy Modal Rounders as an acoustic duo and released two records on the Prestige Folklore label: ''The Holy Modal Rounders'' (1964) and '' The Holy Modal Rounders 2'' (1965).
