State Football Leagues In India
State football leagues in India represent the top state-level of the Indian football league system. There are currently a total of 37 state associations affiliated with the national governing body, the All India Football Federation. Most of the state associations organise and have own affiliated football competitions in their respective states. The state leagues operate as a system of promotion and relegation with the I-League 2, Indian Women's League, Futsal Club Championship and lower state leagues. Clubs of top national leagues (Indian Super League and I-League) also participate in their respective state leagues, most often with youth or reserve teams. The state football associations are the regional governing bodies of football in India. There are 37 state associations affiliated to the All India Football Federation. The state associations have their own constitution and structure. Depending on the size of the state, some associations have sub-district associations that are affiliated to them. The Manipur State League, also known as Manipur Premier League, has been organised since 2006 by the All Manipur Football Association under the Vision India program with guidance from the AFC and the AIFF. Assam State Premier League
Assam State Premier League (ASPL) is the state-level top division football league in the Indian state of Assam, organised by the Assam Football Association and the Guwahati Sports Association. The inaugural edition of the league started in 2008 with Assam Rifles SC winning its first title. Competition structure The winner of Assam State Premier League gets promoted to I-League 2, and the last position team gets relegated to the Assam Club Championship. From 2015 season the league has been revamped with the new format. The teams have been divided into two zones - Upper Assam and Lower Assam. Lucknow Super Division
Lucknow Super Division or Lucknow District Football League is the state-level football league of Lucknow, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The league started in 2015. In 2021 it was organised grandly with 50 teams from Lucknow and other districts of Uttar Pradesh. Structure 50 teams, including 46 from Lucknow, four from other UP districts ( Akbarpur, Haidergarh, Farrukhabad and Unnao), and one from Bhopal (MP), currently participate in the league. Uttarakhand Super League
The Uttarakhand Super League (USL) is a top state-level football league sanctioned by both the All India Football Federation and Uttarakhand State Football Association, that represents the sport in the state of Uttarakhand. The league is organized by the Uttarakhand Adventure Sports Pvt. Ltd. with the goal of promoting football throughout the state. The league began in July 2016 with fourteen teams playing the inaugural season. The league serves as the top football league in the state of Punjab and is sanctioned by Punjab Football Association. J&K Premier Football League, also known as J&K Premier Division and Srinagar Premier League, is the top state-level football league in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) and J&K Sports Council.
