Stamford A.F.C.
Stamford Association Football Club is an English association football club based in Stamford, Lincolnshire. They currently compete in the Southern League Premier Division Central. History The club was established in 1896 and spent a single season in the East Midlands League. After several years without league football, the club joined the Northamptonshire League in 1909, and won the title in 1911–12. In 1933 the league was renamed the United Counties League. The club came to be known as "The Daniels" after Daniel Lambert, often cited as England's heaviest ever man, a Leicester resident who died in Stamford and is buried in the town. They left the league in 1939, but after a season in the Peterborough & District League, they rejoined the UCL in 1946. They won the league's Knockout Cup in 1952, a season in which they also won the Lincolnshire Senior B Cup. Stamford, Lincolnshire
Stamford is a market town and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population at the 2011 census was 19,701 and estimated at 20,645 in 2019. The town has 17th- and 18th-century stone buildings, older timber-framed buildings and five medieval parish churches. Stamford is a frequent film location. In 2013 it was rated a top place to live in a survey by ''The Sunday Times''. Its name has been passed on to Stamford, Connecticut, founded in 1641. Wivenhoe ( ) is a town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the City of Colchester, Colchester district, in north-eastern Essex, England, approximately south-east of Colchester. Historically Wivenhoe village, on the banks of the River Colne, Essex, River Colne, and Wivenhoe Cross, on the higher ground to the north, were two separate settlements; however, with considerable development in the 19th century, the two have since merged. At the 2011 census, the town had a population of 7,637, compared with 7,221 in 2001. The town's history centres on fishing, ship building and smuggling. The 2022–23 season was the 55th season of the Northern Premier League. The league consists of four divisions, the Premier Division at Step 3 of the National League System, and the West, East and Midlands divisions at Step 4. Hartlepool ( ) is a seaside and port town in County Durham, England. It is governed by a unitary authority borough named after the town. The borough is part of the devolved Tees Valley area with an estimated population of 92,600. The old town was founded in the 7th century, around the monastery of Hartlepool Abbey, on a headland. Wayne Mervin Hatswell (born 8 February 1975) is an English former professional footballer who is currently assistant manager of Newport County. Playing career Born in Swindon, Hatswell began his career with Swindon Supermarine and also played for Witney Town and Cinderford Town before joining Frank Gregan at Forest Green Rovers in 1999. During his first season at Forest Green, he made 34 league appearances, and two in the FA Cup scoring two goals. During his next season at Forest Green, he played a further 23 games, scoring five goals. At Forest Green, he became famous for scoring one of the worst ever own goals, when his attempted clearance went straight into his own net during an FA Cup match against Morecambe. Chris Rivett
Chris Rivett (born 25 April 1979) is the chairman of Olympic Catuvellauni, a multi-discipline sporting club he formed in 2013. Prior to establishing the Oly Cats, he was chairman of Stamford A.F.C., until he resigned in March 2013. Football Chris was appointed as chairman of Stamford in August 2012, having only joined the board as a director in July 2012. At the time of his appointment he was the second youngest chairman of a football club in England, only Tiverton Town's Matthew Conridge is younger. On Chris' recommendation, the club received global media coverage in August 2012 when it was announced that they would become the first sports team in the world to wear their Twitter handle and QR code on the back of the first-team shirts for 2012/13 season. Sincil Bank Stadium, known for sponsorship reasons as LNER Stadium, is a football stadium in Lincoln, England, which has been the home of Lincoln City since 1895. Previously, Lincoln City had played at the nearby John O'Gaunts ground since the club's inception in 1884. The stadium has an overall capacity of 10,669. It is overlooked by Lincoln Cathedral.
