Independent School
An independent school is independent in its finances and governance. Ross Symonds
Ross Symonds (born 1942) is an Australian former news presenter and reporter, television and radio personality and spokesman, best known for his association with the ABC and later the Seven Network in Sydney from the 1980s until the early 2000s. Career Symonds began his career with the ABC firstly with ABC Radio in Brisbane in his early 20s, and then went to Sydney with ABC radio and television. After 12 years in the position, Symonds joined Channel Seven in Sydney in January 1981 as the station's weekend news presenter before later joining Roger Climpson to read the weeknight bulletin. He was paired with Ann Sanders on both '' Seven Nightly News'' and Seven's news program '' 11AM'', on which he was the featured news reader for much of the program's life. Kerry Michael O'Brien (born 27 August 1945) is an Australian journalist based in Byron Bay. Gerard Lee
Gerard Lee is an Australian novelist, screenwriter, and director. Early life Gerard Lee was born in Melbourne and brought up in Brisbane in the 1960s in the inner southern suburb of Dutton Park. Lee began writing for ''The Telegraph'' newspaper at the age of 16, although he later attended the University of Queensland, the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, and, many decades later, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Early career Lee started as a poet and drummer (including sitting in as the drummer for the first performance by Brisbane band, The Go-Betweens). He later moved to fiction and travel writing, then writing for film and television. Murray Foy
Murray Foy (1935–1998) was an Australian teacher, actor, and theatre director. He was born in Quirindi, New South Wales, and died in Toowoomba, Queensland. He was educated at St Laurence's College Brisbane, and trained as a teacher at Kelvin Grove Teachers' College. He was accepted into the inaugural National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) class in 1959, and graduated in 1960 with classmates Robyn Nevin and Edwin Hodgman among others. He continued working throughout his career as an actor, director, artistic director, playwright and theatre teacher. He also served on the Australia Council for the Arts (now Australia Council) Theatre Board during the 1970s. He married actor Kathryn (Kate) Wilson in 1975. They had two children, born 1978 and 1979. John Joseph Symond (born 17 August 1947) is an Australian entrepreneur, former financial executive, and the founder of Aussie Home Loans. Early life Symond was born on 17 August 1947 in Crookwell, New South Wales and raised in Sydney. He spent most of his time between Brisbane, where his mother's family lived, and Sydney, near his father's relatives. Peter O'Meara was the inaugural CEO of the Western Force rugby union team.
