''Spaceman'' is the sixth studio album by American guitarist Ace Frehley, released on October 19, 2018. The album features a guest appearance from Frehley's former Kiss bandmate Gene Simmons who also co-wrote two tracks. The album features three alternative covers. Album information ''Spaceman'' features a reunion of sorts with Frehley's former Kiss bandmate Gene Simmons, who co-wrote and played bass on the opener "Without You I'm Nothing". He also co-wrote "Your Wish Is My Command", which Simmons intended for Kiss to record. Simmons named ''Spaceman''. "Rockin' With the Boys" was mentioned as a Frehley song title for the upcoming Kiss album (before Music From the Elder) by Kerrang! magazine in 1981. It is not known how, except for the title, his 1981 song relates to the one he recorded for this album. Ace Frehley
Paul Daniel "Ace" Frehley (; born April 27, 1951) is an American musician, best known as the original lead guitarist and co-founding member of the hard rock band Kiss. He invented the persona of The Spaceman (a.k.a. Space Ace) and played with the group from its inception in 1973 until his departure in 1982. After leaving Kiss, Frehley formed his own band named Frehley's Comet and released two albums with this group. He subsequently embarked on a solo career, which was put on hold when he rejoined Kiss in 1996 for a highly successful reunion tour. Frehley's second tenure with Kiss lasted until 2002, when he left at the conclusion of what was originally purported to be the band's farewell tour. ''Kerrang!'' is a British weekly magazine devoted to rock, punk and heavy metal music, currently published by Wasted Talent (the same company that owns electronic music publication '' Mixmag''). It was first published on 6 June 1981 as a one-off supplement in the '' Sounds'' newspaper. It started as, which was founded by Sōkō Koike in November 1967 and became known for its music charts. Oricon Inc. was originally set up as a subsidiary of Original Confidence and took over the latter's Oricon record charts in April 2002. Anton Fig (born 8 August 1952 in Cape Town, South Africa), known as "The Thunder from Down Under", is a South African session drummer, perhaps best known as the drummer and second-in-command for Paul Shaffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band. David Letterman, for whom the band served as house band on his late-night talk shows, often referred to Fig as "Anton Zip" or "Buddy Rich Jr." Fig is also well known for his work with Kiss, Ace Frehley and Joe Bonamassa. Matt Starr is an American drummer. He has performed with numerous artists and bands throughout his career, including Ace Frehley, Joe Lynn Turner, Love/Hate, Kevin DuBrow, and Mr. Big. Career In 2005, Starr co-wrote and recorded the Beautiful Creatures sophomore release, '' Deuce'', and toured with the band the same year. Scot Coogan is an American musician known for his accomplished drumming and vocal skills, working as both a session and touring musician. Scot resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he records, performs and has worked as a counselor at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp. Scot is also related to Jackie Coogan who is responsible for the Coogan Act that was put into place in 1939. Monty Byrom
Monty Byrom (born 1958) is an American rock, blues and country guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer. He fronted the rock band Billy Satellite and wrote hit songs for Eddie Money. Later while leading the "soul country" band Big House, Byrom made a significant contribution to the new Bakersfield Sound, with a nod to his Bakersfield roots. Early life Byrom was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and raised in Bakersfield, California. His original musical influences were Merle Haggard, Billy Mize, Buck Owens, Otis Redding, and Bobby Womack. Daniel Smith "Danny" Chauncey (born June 19, 1956) is an American rock guitarist. He is best known for being a member of the Southern rock band 38 Special. Background Chauncey was born in San Francisco, California and raised in Alameda County, California. He attended Alameda High School. Billy Satellite was an American rock band based in Oakland, California. They are perhaps best known for composing and performing "I Wanna Go Back," which would later become a hit for Eddie Money. It was also covered by Gregg Rolie on his 1985 self-titled release. History Formed in Alameda, California as a three-person band in the early 1980s, Billy Satellite originally consisted of Monty Byrom (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Ira Walker (bass), and Tom "Fee" Falletti (drums). "I Wanna Go Back" is a 1984 song by American rock band Billy Satellite, written by band members Monty Byrom, Danny Chauncey, and Ira Walker, that achieved major popularity when recorded by Eddie Money in 1986. Another version was recorded by former Santana/ Journey keyboardist/singer Gregg Rolie for his self-titled 1985 debut solo album.
