The Human Development Index (HDI) is a statistic composite index of life expectancy, education (mean years of schooling completed and expected years of schooling upon entering the education system), and per capita income indicators, which is used to rank countries into four tiers of human development. Rubim is a municipality in the northeast of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Its population in 2020 was 10,256 inhabitants in a total area of 969 km². Rubim belongs to the Almenara statistical microregion. The elevation of the municipal seat is 254 meters. It became a municipality in 1943. This municipality is located in the valley of the Rubim do Sul River, a tributary of the Jequitinhonha River.
