Swedish People's Party Of Finland
The Swedish People's Party of Finland (SPP; , SFP; , RKP) is a Finnish political party founded in 1906. Its primary aim is to represent the interests of the minority Swedish-speaking population of Finland. The party is currently a participant in the Government of Petteri Orpo, holding the posts of Minister of Education and Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering. Along with the post Minister of Youth, Sport and Physical Activity until 13 June, 2025. An ethnic catch-all party, its main election issue since its inception has been the Swedish-speaking Finns' right to their own language while maintaining the position of Swedish as an official language in Finland. Ideologically, it is liberal, social-liberal, centrist, and pro-European. Anders Adlercreutz
Anders Erik Gunnar Adlercreutz (born 26 April 1970) is a Finnish architect and politician. He has represented the Swedish People's Party of Finland in the Parliament of Finland since 2015 Finnish parliamentary election, 2015, and has served as the party's chair since 2024. He has served as Minister of Education (Finland), Minister of Education in the Orpo Cabinet since July 2024, having previously served as Minister for European Affairs (Finland), Minister of European Affairs and Ownership Steering. Early life and education Adlercreutz was born on 26 April 1970. His family, the Adlercreutz, Adlercreutz family, are among the over 170 surviving noble families in Finland. This article is a list of political parties in Finland, which includes Finland's national-level political parties and excludes local and provincial parties (such as the parties of Åland). A party is defined as a political association whose existence is recorded in the Ministry of Justice's party register. Finland has a multi-party system. Coalition governments which comprise a majority of seats in the Parliament of Finland are the norm. Those parties which are not in government are called the opposition. Due to the lack of an electoral threshold, many parties are usually represented in Parliament. As a result, it is all but impossible for one party to win a majority. Eva Rita Katarina Biaudet (born 27 February 1961) is a Finnish politician and Member of Parliament of Finland in the parliamentary group of the Swedish People's Party. She returned to the Finnish Parliament in the parliamentary election of April 2015. Eva Biaudet was Member of Parliament of Finland (1991–2006) and is a former Minister of Social Services (1999–2000 and 2002–2003). After the election of 2003 Biaudet did not want to continue as a cabinet minister. Biaudet was appointed as the Ombudsman for Minorities for a term of five years starting in 2010. A complaint was made concerning her nomination because she was formally unqualified for the office, as she lacked a university degree. Biaudet had studied law, but never graduated. The complaint did not succeed, as Biaudet was granted a special permission.
