Surfing The Menu
''Surfing the Menu'' is an Australian television cooking and lifestyle series on the ABC which aired between 2003 and 2006. The series follows features two chefs who follow their passions as they travel around Australia and New Zealand. The first three seasons were presented by Curtis Stone and Ben O'Donoghue. The fourth season also featured episodes presented by O'Donoghue and Mark Gardner. In 2016 a new series '' Surfing the Menu: The Next Generation'' debuted. Curtis Stone
Curtis Travis Stone (born 4 November 1975) is an Australian celebrity chef, author, and television personality. Stone has been the fresh food and recipes ambassador for Coles Supermarkets in Australia since 2010. Early life Stone was born in Melbourne in Australia. He grew up in the suburb of East Keilor. Stone began cooking with his paternal grandmother, Maude, at the age of four. His father, Bryan Stone, is an accountant, and his mother, Lorraine, is a florist; they separated when Stone was two years old. Stone attended Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School where he took home economics class and then went on to a commercial cookery apprenticeship at a vocational school. Career Stone studied for a Bachelor of Business at Victoria University before dropping out and deciding to pursue a career as a chef. Ben O'Donoghue
Benjamin O'Donoghue (born 22 May 1970) is an Australian chef. Early years O'Donoghue was five years old when his family moved from England to Port Hedland, Western Australia. At the age of ten, his family moved to Perth. On finishing school O'Donoghue was employed at a restaurant at Rottnest Island for the summer as a kitchen hand. As a result, he applied for and obtained an apprenticeship in a seafood restaurant in Nedlands called Jo Jo's. In his final year of high school at La Salle College in Midland he was head boy. Career After qualifying as a chef O'Donoghue was promoted to sous chef at Jessica's Seafood Restaurant in Perth. This was followed by stints as Chef de Partie at Goodfella's restaurant in Newtown, Sydney and at the Tribeca restaurant in Double Bay, where he was subsequently promoted to sous chef.
