The Supercopa de España, also known as the Spanish Super Cup, is a super cup tournament in Football in Spain, Spanish football. Founded in 1982 Supercopa de España, 1982 as a two-team competition, the current version has been contested since 2020 Supercopa de España, 2020 by four teams: the winners and runners-up of the Copa del Rey and La Liga. Until 1995, a team that won both the league and cup automatically got the trophy. From 1996 to 2019, if a team won both, they had to play the cup runners-up for the Supercopa. Since its inception, thirteen teams have participated in the tournament, and ten have been crowned champions. FC Barcelona, Barcelona is the reigning champion after defeating Real Madrid CF, Real Madrid in the 2025 Supercopa de España final, final of the 2025 Supercopa de España, 2025 edition held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Supercopa de España de Baloncesto ( English: ''Spanish Basketball Supercup'') is a Spanish annual men's professional basketball competition. The competition is a super cup tournament. History The Supercopa was created in 1984 by the recently established Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB) in which the league winner faces the cup winner in a single-game final. During its first four editions (1984–1987), the Supercup was also known as Federation Cup, as the tournament was jointly organized by the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), and it was held in the middle of the regular season. In 1988–89 season, the Supercup was not played for lack of competitive interest, and finally it was officially cancelled at the beginning of the 1989–90 season. In 2004, almost two decades after its demise, ACB restored this classic tournament and renamed it Supercopa ACB (since 2011 known as Supercopa Endesa for sponsoring reasons). The Supercopa ASOBAL or the Supercopa de España de Balonmano was an annual cup competition for Spanish handball teams. It was organised by the Liga ASOBAL. It was first played for in 1985 and was disputed between the Liga ASOBAL champions and the winners of the Copa del Rey de Balonmano. The Supercopa de España Femenina or the ''Spanish Women's Super Cup'' is a super cup tournament in Spanish football, contested by the winners and runners up of the Copa de la Reina and the remaining highest ranked teams from the Primera División that had not already qualified through the cup final.
