Sunčane Skale was a pop music festival held every summer in Herceg Novi, Montenegro , image_flag = Flag of Montenegro.svg , image_coat = Coat of arms of Montenegro.svg , coa_size = 80 , national_motto = , national_anthem = () , image_map = Europe-Mont .... The festival began in 1994. The festival was held every year from 1994 to 2015, except in 1999 - NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. In 2016, it was cancelled for financial reasons. The festival The festival lasts for three days. On the first day, the ''Prinčeva nagrada'' (''Prince's award'') is given to singers who won a nomination in a certain category. On day two the festival introduces new talent into the world; it's also called ''Nove zvijezde'' (''New stars''). Herceg Novi
Herceg Novi (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Херцег Нови, ) is a town in Coastal Montenegro, Coastal region of Montenegro located at the Western entrance to the Bay of Kotor and at the foot of Mount Orjen. It is the administrative center of the Herceg Novi Municipality with around 33,000 inhabitants. The town was founded as a fortress in 1382 by the King of Bosnia, Tvrtko I of Bosnia, Tvrtko I Kotromanić, and named after Saint Stephen but the name did not stick, instead it became known as Novi (), also Castelnuovo in Italian (). Kemal Monteno
Kemal Monteno (17 September 1948 – 21 January 2015) was a Bosnian recording artist and singer-songwriter whose career stretched from the 1960s to the 2010s. He is widely considered one of the greatest songwriters of the former Yugoslavia. Monteno wrote songs for other performers as well, most notably Zdravko Čolić, Toše Proeski, and the rock band Indexi. Early life Monteno's father Osvaldo was an Italian from Monfalcone. During World War II, he was drafted and deployed to occupied Yugoslavia in 1945 where he met a Bosniak woman named Bahrija in Sarajevo and fell in love. Osvaldo left his pregnant wife in Italy to marry Bahrija. Osvaldo's Italian wife gave birth in 1946 to a daughter named Daniela, Monteno's half-sister. Kemal was born to Osvaldo and Bahrija two years later in Sarajevo. Although his father was Catholic and his mother was a Muslim, Monteno was given a Muslim first name. Teška Industrija (trans. ''Heavy Industry'') is a Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnian and SFR Yugoslav, Yugoslav Rock music, rock band formed in Sarajevo in 1974. The group was formed in 1974 by keyboardist Gabor Lenđel, guitarist Vedad Hadžiavdić, bass guitarist Ivica Propadalo, drummer Senad Begović and vocalist Fadil Toskić, gaining attention of the public after Toskić was replaced by Seid Memić Vajta, Seid Memić "Vajta".
