Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Year
The Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an award given to the most outstanding men's basketball player in the Sun Belt Conference (SBC). The award was first given following the conference's first basketball season of 1976–77. Four players have been selected twice ( Terry Catledge, Chris Gatling, Chico Fletcher, and R. J. Hunter), while no player has earned a three-time player of the year selection. Western Kentucky, which left the SBC for Conference USA Conference USA (CUSA) is a collegiate athletic conference of member institutions in the Southern and Western United States. The Sun Belt Conference (SBC) is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference that has been affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA's NCAA Division I, Division I since 1976. Originally a non-football conference, the Sun Belt began sponsoring football in 2001. Its College football, football teams participate in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Anthony Winchester
Anthony David Winchester (born May 15, 1983) is an American basketball coach and former professional basketball player. Winchester is currently an assistant coach at Kansas State. He played college basketball at Western Kentucky. High school career Winchester attended Austin High School. He averaged 34.7 points per game as a senior and led Austin to the 2002 2A Final Four and Mid-Southern Conference Championship. Winchester was the runner-up for Indiana Mr. Basketball. He finished his career with 2,256 points. College career Winchester played college basketball at Western Kentucky. In February 2004, he scored 40 points in a loss to Louisiana-Lafayette. The Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team represents the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) in NCAA Division I basketball. Charlotte is a member of the American Athletic Conference (The American), which they joined in 2023 after 10 seasons in Conference USA. The 1976–77 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began in November 1976, progressed through the regular season and conference tournaments, and concluded with the 1977 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament Championship Game on March 28, 1977, at The Omni in Atlanta, Georgia. DeVante' Jones (born April 9, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for Cedevita Olimpija of the ABA League . He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines of the Big Ten Conference. He previously played for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. Nijal Pearson (born November 21, 1997) is an American basketball player for Rostock Seawolves of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). He competed in college basketball for the Texas State Bobcats. Early life Pearson grew up in Beaumont, Texas and attended Central High School. Quindarious Deavundre "Tookie" Brown (born November 22, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for Juventus Utena of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). Kevin Hervey (born July 9, 1996) is an American professional basketball player, who most recently played for U-BT Cluj-Napoca of the Romanian Liga Națională de Baschet Masculin (LNBM) and the EuroCup. He played college basketball for UT Arlington. College career Hervey came into UT Arlington at only 180 pounds before eventually reaching 210 pounds by his senior season. LaRon Dendy (born December 18, 1988) is an American former basketball player. Dendy was an All-American college player at Middle Tennessee State University before beginning his professional career in 2012. Career Dendy, a power forward and center from Greenville, South Carolina, originally committed to Clemson. He instead went to Indian Hills Community College and played two years for the NJCAA school. Solomon Bozeman (born December 18, 1987) is an American former professional basketball player and current head coach for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He played college basketball for the University of South Florida and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
