Movements (band)
Movements are a post-hardcore band from Rancho Santa Margarita, California, formed in 2015. The band was signed to a record contract with Fearless Records after playing just one show in 2015. They have released an EP, '' Outgrown Things'' (2016), and three albums, '' Feel Something'' (2017), '' No Good Left to Give'' (2020), and ''RUCKUS!'' (2023). ''Feel Something'' peaked at 190 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. History Movements was formed in January 2015 by guitarist Brett Chiodo and Patrick Miranda and soon recruited drummer Spencer York, and bassist Austin Cressey. They self-released their first single, "Protection" on January 31, 2015 and played their first show opening for Have Mercy in March 2015. A second single, "Buried" was released on March 17. Movement Electronic Music Festival is an annual electronic music, electronic dance music event held in the birthplace of Techno, Detroit, each Memorial Day weekend since 2006. Previous electronic music festivals held at Hart Plaza on Memorial Day weekend include Detroit Electronic Music Festival (2000–2002), Movement (2003–2004) and Fuse-In (2005). The four different festival names reflect completely separate and distinct producers, brands and directions. All of these festivals presented performances by musicians and disc jockey, DJs that emphasized the progressive qualities of the culture surrounding electronic music including the celebration of Detroit being the birthplace of the popular electronic music subgenre Techno. ''The Movement'' is a 2013-2014 comic book series published by DC Comics that ran for 12 issues, written by Gail Simone and illustrated by Freddie Williams II. The series took place within the DC Universe as part of ''The New 52''. It focused on a group of teenagers, known as The Movement or Channel M, who use their superpowers to fight the corruption in Coral City. Publication history ''The Movement'' was first announced in February 2013, alongside its sister book '' The Green Team''. Simone noted a connection between the two books "almost from the very start. Movement (stylised as MOVEMENT) are an Australian minimal soul duo who blend R&B and ambient music. They consist of Lewis Wade on vocals and keyboards and Jesse James Ward on bass guitar, synthesisers, and vocals. Their self-titled debut EP was released in May 2014 via Modular Recordings. History Movement were formed in Sydney in 2011. Their music is described as "minimal soul," as well as "psychedelic" and "body music." The songs have elements of R&B, ambient, soul and pop music. They were signed to Modular Recordings in May 2013 ahead of the label issuing their debut single, "Feel Real". ''Movement'' is the debut studio album by English rock band New Order, released on 13 November 1981 by Factory Records.
