Stéphane Roy (ice Hockey, Born 1967)
Stéphane Roy (born June 29, 1967) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played 12 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Minnesota North Stars during the 1987–88 season. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1987 to 2003, was spent in various minor leagues. Early life Roy was born in Quebec City, Quebec, and raised in Cap-Rouge, Quebec. As a youth, he played in the 1978, 1979 and 1980 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Quebec City and was a teammate to his brother Patrick in the 1978 event. Career Roy was drafted by the Minnesota North Stars in 1985, in the third round (51st overall). He played with the North Stars in the 1987–88 season, scoring one goal in twelve games and accumulating zero penalty minutes. Stéphane Roy (born 26 January 1976) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. Career Roy was born in Sainte-Martine, Quebec. He played junior hockey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the Val-d'Or Foreurs from 1993 to 1996. Career Roy was drafted 68th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft and played three seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Worcester IceCats, the Blues' affiliate, as well as one season with the Quebec Citadelles. Roy moved to Europe in 2000, beginning in the United Kingdom's Ice Hockey Superleague with the Bracknell Bees. He then spent a season in Italy's Serie A for HC Alleghe before moving to Switzerland's National League B where he spent eleven seasons, four with EHC Visp and seven with HC Ajoie HC Ajoie is a Swiss professional ice hockey team that competes in the National League (NL), the highest league in Switzerland. Stéphane Roy is an acousmatic composer. His art esthetics allow him, after thorough experimentations with sound materials, to extract expressive properties and give these works teleological motion. His works have been programmed throughout Europe and the Americas. His latest album, ''L’inaudible'', received the 2019-2020 Prix Opus — Album of the year, Electroacoustic Music. Born in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Roy earned both a doctorate degree in electroacoustic composition and a PhD in musicology from the Université de Montréal. He is the author of ''L'analyse des musiques électroacoustiques: Modèles et propositions'' (published 2003, Paris; 2003-04 Prix Opus — Book of the Year), a book on electroacoustic music analysis.
