Steven Gilmore Jr. (born September 17, 1999) is an American professional American football, football cornerback for the Birmingham Stallions (2022), Birmingham Stallions of the United Football League (2024), United Football League (UFL). He played college football for the Marshall Thundering Herd football, Marshall Thundering Herd and signed with the Detroit Lions as an Free agent#Undrafted free agent, undrafted free agent after the 2023 NFL draft. Professional career Detroit Lions On May 12, 2023, the Detroit Lions signed Gilmore to a three-year, $2.71 million contract as an undrafted free agent. The Birmingham Stallions are a professional American football team based in Birmingham, Alabama. The Stallions compete in the United Football League (2024), United Football League (UFL) as a member of the USFL Conference. They were a founding member of the second iteration of the United States Football League (2022–2023), United States Football League (USFL) in 2022. Birmingham Stallions (2022) Players
The Birmingham Stallions were a franchise in the United States Football League, an attempt to establish a second professional league of American football in the United States in competition with the National Football League. They played their home games at Birmingham, Alabama's Legion Field. They competed in all three USFL seasons, 1983–1985. During their run, they were one of the USFL's more popular teams and seemed to have a realistic chance of being a viable venture had the USFL been better run. The owner was Cincinnati financier and Birmingham native Marvin Warner. Stephon Stiles Gilmore (born September 19, 1990) is an American professional football cornerback. He played college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks and was selected tenth overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2012 NFL draft. Gilmore spent his first five seasons with the Bills and earned Pro Bowl honors in 2016 before joining the New England Patriots. Gilmore was named 2019 Defensive Player of the Year with the Patriots in 2019 after co-leading the league in interceptions. He also extended his Pro Bowl selections to four, received two first-team All-Pro selections, and was a member of the team that won Super Bowl LIII.
