State Correctional Institution – Albion is a Medium-Security correctional facility for males, located in the extreme northwestern corner of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Erie County. SCI-Albion also holds Close-Security inmates as well. History SCI Albion was a prototype of four other similar correctional facilities constructed in the 1990s. Funding for construction was unique at the time as the Department of General Services joined Erie County to construct this facility. The county had a prison authority to float the bond Issues and authorize payments. The Commonwealth pays for the indebtedness via a monthly payment to the county. Facility SCI Albion covers a 357-acre area, with 67 of those acres within the perimeter fence. The grounds also include 22 structures, including the prison's ten (10) housing units. Albion Correctional Facility
Albion Correctional Facility is a medium security prison for women in the Town of Albion, Orleans County, New York, United States, that is operated by the New York State Department of Correctional Services. The site was founded in 1894 as the Western House of Refuge for Women, then later the Albion State Training School. The prison is just outside the village of Albion. Albion is one of New York facilities exclusively for women, the others being Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, Taconic Correctional Facility. Most famously, Albion housed "Long Island Lolita" Amy Fisher for 3½ years; she was then transferred to the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women, the only maximum security prison for women in New York State and located in Bedford Hills, New York. Conneaut Township is a township in Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 4,187 at the 2020 census, down from 4,290 at the 2010 census, up from 3,908 in 2000. History The Harrington Covered Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Geography Conneaut Township occupies the southwest corner of Erie County. The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PADOC) is the Pennsylvania state agency that is responsible for the confinement, care, and rehabilitation of approximately 37,000 inmates at state correctional facilities funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The agency is headquartered in Hampden Township, Cumberland County in Greater Harrisburg, near Mechanicsburg.
