State Archives Of Vinnytsia Oblast
The State Archives of the Vinnytsia Oblast ( (ДАВіО for short)) is an archive of the Ukrainian State Archive Service located in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, housing documents from the Vinnytsia Oblast. The archive contains holdings from the 18th century to the early 21st. History In 1920, the Podolia Regional Archive was established in Vinnytsia, consisting of three departments: archival, library, and bibliographic. In September of that year, the Podolsk Regional Archives was transferred to the Podolsk Provincial Archival Administration, which disbanded in February 1921. On April 1, 1922, the administration was reformed under the Soviet Union for the purpose of storing and archiving pre-revolutionary documents. Under July 24, 1925, following the liquidation of the Podolia Governorate, the administration transferred its functions to a temporary archival commission, which distributed the holdings to three administrations in Vinnytsia, Mohyliv-Podilskyi, and Tulchyn. The State Archival Service of Ukraine (), or Ukrderzharkhiv (), is a Ukrainian government agency that implements state policy regarding the keeping of archives and record, function of state system of documentation security fund as well as an inter-trade coordination on matters within its competence. In 2010, the service was reorganised based on the State Committee of Archives (DerzhKomArchiv). The agency is part of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine since 1999. Between 1947 and 1960, it belonged to the NKVD. Ukrderzharkhiv has been a member of the International Council on Archives since 1956. Podolia Governorate was an administrative-territorial unit (''guberniya'') of the Southwestern Krai of the Russian Empire. It bordered Volhynian Governorate to the north, Kiev Governorate to the east, Kherson Governorate to the southeast, Bessarabia Governorate to the south, and Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, Austria to the west.
