Stange Municipality
is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Hedemarken. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Stangebyen. Other villages include Bekkelaget, Espa, Bottenfjellet, Ilseng, Ottestad, Sandvika, Sinnerud, Starhellinga, Tangen, and Romedal. The municipality is the 157th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Stange is the 59th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 21,356. The municipality's population density is and its population has increased by 10% over the previous 10-year period. Stange Church
Stange Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stange Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located about west of the village of Stangebyen. It is the church for the Stange parish which is part of the Hamar domprosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The white, stone church was built in a partial cruciform design in the middle of the 13th century using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 400 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1225 when it was mentioned in the book ''Hákonar saga Hákonarsonar''. The first church in Stange was a stone building that was constructed during the 12th century. There is some evidence that a wooden post church was on the site during the 11th century. Vang, Hedmark
Vang is a former municipality in the old Hedmark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1992 when it became part of Hamar Municipality. The administrative centre of the municipality was at Fredvang. This site, however became part of the town of Hamar in 1946, so after that time, the municipal administration was actually located outside the municipal borders in the neighboring municipality. The main church for the municipality was Vang Church in the village of Ridabu. Gåsbu Ski Center lies in Vang Almenning, and has served as the backup venue for the ''Holmenkollrennene''. Formannskapsdistrikt
() was the name of a Norwegian self-governing municipality. The name was used from the establishment these municipalities in 1838 until the name fell out of use in 1863. The municipalities had their legal basis from two laws enacted on 14 January 1837. The laws established two types of ; one for cities () and one for rural districts (). These districts were mostly based on the former parishes. City municipalities had a monopoly on trade in both the municiality and for surrounding districts.
