St Mary And St John Church, Wolverhampton
St Mary and St John Church is a Roman Catholic Parish church in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. It was opened in 1855 and designed by Charles Hansom. It is situated on the corner of Snow Hill and Ring Road St Georges. It is Grade II* listed building and has been served by the Pauline Fathers since 2002. History Construction It was built from 1851 in the Gothic Revival style. It was opened in 1855 and the architect was Charles Hansom. He also designed St Osburg's Church, Coventry in 1845 and Erdington Abbey in 1848. After St Mary and St John Church he went on to be behind the construction of St Gregory's Church, Cheltenham in 1854, Plymouth Cathedral in 1856 and Our Lady of the Angels and St Peter in Chains Church, Stoke-on-Trent in 1857. City of Wolverhampton Council is the governing body of the city of Wolverhampton, England. New Cross Hospital
New Cross Hospital is a hospital in the Heath Town district of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. It is located to the east of the city centre in Wednesfield and is managed by the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. History The hospital has its origins in the local workhouse designed by Arthur Marshall; the foundation stone was laid by the chairman of the Board of Guardians in September 1900 and it opened in September 1903. The design ensured that the workhouse had infirmary facilities in the north end of the site and the infirmary joined the National Health Service as the New Cross Hospital in 1948. A4123 Road
The A4123, is a major road in the West Midlands of the UK linking Wolverhampton with Birmingham via Dudley, also known as the Birmingham New Road (Wolverhampton to Dudley) and Wolverhampton Road (Dudley to Birmingham). It was one of the first major new roads constructed for use by motor traffic, and was designed as an unemployment relief project. It runs roughly northwest to southeast from the Wolverhampton Ring Road via Dudley to Harborne, west Birmingham. Until the 1960s, the road continued along the former B4123 to the A441 near Kings Norton. This became part of the A4040 during the 1960s when the Outer Ring Road came into existence.
